| Pita's pet Skunk Actually, Fifi was MY birthday present, but Pita tolerates her well, I can't say she likes her but they don't fight. They are so cute in this picture, don't you think. (yes, Pita has a skunk costume, I need to get pictures)

| Fifi lives in the laundry room with a gate across the door when we are not home. This is for her own safety cuz she will find every nook and cranny to squeeze into. She is very loveable to me but she is very skittish around new people. I was surprised at that because I didn't think she would know the difference. My main problem with her is keeping her weight down, she loves to eat! And i swear she gains weight on air. (like me) I have been told she is bulking up with for winter. (So am I HA) She is a great pet, different than a cat or dog. She goes in her litterbox but I have one on the other side of the house too cuz she won't run back to it. Once I figured out her habits I was able to put boxes where she wants to go and so she has 2 but she only goes twice a day if I stay on her feeding schedule. You have to be careful where you live if you get one, not all states allow them. I live in FL and I have a permit for her. It's something to do with them not being able to be vaccinated for rabies. Also if you get one make sure you know a vet that will treat it. I love my Yorkie but she defected and decided she was my husband's dog. So now it's him and Pita and me and Fifi. We are quite the hit when we go to Petsmart. Amazingly Fifi is very good at Petsmart as long as I hold her. For as skittish as she is around new people in the house she loves to go out and doesn't mind the attention. Otherwise she just follows me around the house. I love her! Sorry about the skunk ranting Yorkiepeople! I love my Yorkie too!

| wowie i had no idea skunks could be pets. fifi is soooo cute next to pita!. under what conditions do they spray? i ask only b/c that's the only thing that i knew about them before, that they spray and you better run b/c the smell is hard to get out. lol. but that's a pretty ignorant view i realize, and i'd love to know more about life with miss fifi

| I had skunks under my porch in NH. I had a new litter of babys to watch grow every summer and loved it. They would eat my cat food and found out that was bad for them so I started feeding them fruit, veggies and all kinds of nuts and seeds. They were so much fun to watch. They showed up on my front stoop every night at dusk looking for their dinner. |

| Fifi is descented, she had her glands removed before I got her I had to get her spayed at 4 months and it was the second scariest day of my life! (the first was when Pita got spayed) It's funny cuz when she gets mad her tail goes up if she's really pissed it will plume out, if she's REALLY mad, like if you don't put cheese on her salad, she will turn her butt to you and stomp her front feet like she is going to spray. When she is calm her tail stays down and relaxed. It's hilarious, it was funnier when she was little. She was so tiny when I first got her at 5 weeks old, now she's 5 months and weighs around 15 pounds! Maybe it's the cheese on her salad???
