| Fifi is beautiful ... her fur looks the texture of mink!! I know she must be so much fun! Our neighborhood borders undeveloped land and there is a 4 ft. stucco wall that runs the entire length of the property. I can peek over the top and there's wildlife over there. Last winter we had deer prints on our patio in the snow! I would love to see them. There's also a skunk that lives out there .... I peek out there all the time just hoping to see it. I know when it is out there because I can smell it! The weekend of the air show, the Blue Angels were here and flew really low over the rooftops. Patrick was across the street at a neighbors and came running in to close a window ... he said he guessed the planes got so low, they scared the skunk!! Yep ... it was mad!!

| Im SO jealous! I have always wanted a pet skunk. When I was a kid they had skunk races at the fair which prompted my want of one as a pet! This is so cool

I have lived a very sheltered life methinks....This thread has really got me googling a ton of skunk-related stuff.... Fifi and the cheese theory cracks me up? Another ignorant question -- do you have to worry about her biting or clawing like a cat?

| Fifi is VERY happy! She's in my room with me now going thro my purse. She doesn't chew cords or anything, she could do damage with her claws but she doesn't. She sleeps and eats mostly. She will play rough with my hands but I put a sock or a puppet on so she can play with me like that. She is a bit overweight. She loves to eat so much and so it's really hard not to overfeed her. I am hoping that she loses some around springtime. In the wild they would be bulking up for winter when food is scarce. She also will get more lethargic as the time goes on through winter. (so I'm told) I live in Florida but Fifi's inherited genes don't know that. I love having her. She is different from a dog or a cat but very cool. My husband didn't realize she would have to live inside when he bought her as a surprise for me for my birthday. I've always wanted a skunk. He is good about her as long as I don't let her steal his socks. She will collect things and take them into her bed so that it is more snuggly. Yes ,having a skunk is great!!

| That is so cute! What a pair. She doesn't try to escape over the gate when you put her away when you aren't home? Does she respond to her name like a dog would?

| She really can't climb that well, skunks front feet are very developed like bears, her back feet, not so much. She is very bottom heavy and thank god she can't climb the gate. She can go upstairs and things but she has trouble getting onto the couch herself. She does come when I call her, although today she didn't want to come out from under the bed so i waved a cold piece of pizza under there and POOF a skunk appeared! I gave her only a bite of it as a reward. I take her for walks outside or really i follow her around while she snuffles everything. I tried a dog harness on her but with her odd shape it really doesn't work very well so I put just a collar firmly behind her front legs and that works quite well, she doesn't feel confined and she can't get out of it as her but is so much bigger than her middle. She is very soft. I give her the occasional bath but she stays pretty clean and she doesn't shed very much which I was worried about!

| I would love to have a pet skunk! I have seen skunk shows on TV and the variety of colors is astonishing. I would love to have a totally white one. |
