I would PM Tanya or email her from her site if I were you and I am sure she would be happy to discuss your interest in the puppies. I think she only discusses the terms of an adoption after speaking to the prospective adoptive parent. I am not trying to speak for or represent her and I may be all wrong, but she is very professional and she is looking for the very best homes for her babies and this would be the most discreet way to address the terms of the adoption if I were you. Good luck. I hope you get one as they are truly special babies!

Someone needs to explain something to me. How come everyone always questions breeders that advertise "tea cups" but no one questions a person selling pups that aren't going to make it to 2 lbs. ??? It sounds like Tanya is breeding for small tinytots. uhhh, I thought the people on this board (and the YTCA) were not supportive of this? sorry, i just don't get it. I too wanted a tiny dog when I started my search. I am just curious why this is acceptable unless someone uses the term tea cup (meaning a dog under 3 lbs.). I thought it wasn't the term, it was what the term represented. How is this okay?

as far as teacups that is a poodle term not for yorkies ad i belive people use this term for small dogs under 5 lbs so i dont know where you are getting your information here !!!! It very hard to get 2 lbs dogs if you knew anything about breeding !!!! tanya

So, what you are saying is that the little female you posted and her brothers will be in the 3-6lb. range? And the tiny boy that may not make it to 2lbs. was an accident? If so, I apologize.

i dont know how you can come to a decision that cause my website name tinytots means i breed for 2 lbsers ???? i also sell and collect dolls they are tots too and some are tiny 5-8 inches up to 35 inches ??? tots is a phase for small children dolls dogs etc !!!! and yes sometimes you get tiny ones do i breed to get 2 lbs now i breed two dogs i feel will complement themselves i dont breed to get 6-14 lbs no i like dogs around 3-5 range myself and i think most do in the yorkies breed !! as pets if i were showing then thats different but most people who call me dont want big yorkies they want tinies 2-5 lbs mostly 3 lbs thats that !!!

| Well, I don't think this little girl is less than 2 ounces in weight. Must be a typo. Secondly, I don't think most people want their Yorkies in the 3lb range. I definitely wouldn't, so I don't think we should speak for most people.

| I am not a breeder but I have talked to a lot of breeders lately in my search for my Ava baby and I was told that the 3-4 lb range is what the people here in California want. It may not be that way in other parts of the country but if the price for smaller yorkies tells you anything, I would say they are in demand. The breed standard is 5-7 and getting smaller all the time it seems by what is winning in the show ring. Tanya is very reputable, she has healthy dogs who are well cared for and she loves them deeply. The little male is very rare, but they can happen in any litter. He is the runt and you can get a small runt in any litter and the breeders on here will tell you that. Hi Shelby'smom...To answer your question I would say...~ Tanya does not use the word teacup because she knows there is no such classification in the YTCA but for the common lay person who doesn't know, it is perfectly acceptable to use the term to describe any small breed dog who is below the breed standard for that particular breed. It is not always about a "breeder who just wants to make more money". It is what has become the common terminology in the non yorkie fancier world. I abhor it when some newbie comes here and gets blasted when she says she is looking for a "teacup". It doesn't happen as much as it used to or as it did on some of the older boards as I think we have learned how to tone it down and educate rather than alienate newbies who just don't know. |

| I agree people want Yorkies in all sizes. I think this breeder understands that there is a huge market for small dogs (especially in CA?). I guess I got worked up about this b/c when I was searching for a tiny yorkie I learned a lot and ran into breeders that would say anything to sell a dog. Difficult to know who you can trust. I don't know this breeder and the only reason I questioned this is b/c I am genuinely still confused. I thought it was a matter of fact that breeding to create "tiny" or tea cup or insy winsey itty bitty is not good for the dogs. (Not saying they are all unhealthy) Now I have to go cuddle with my "tiny, but getting bigger by the minute pup" I am so in love with her she could wake up a Great Dane. I would just have to buy a bigger purse. |

| Why's everyone get so uptight. Iv'e been to Tanya's house and for a few days. I loved it in Calif. This lady treats her dogs like her kids. They all sleep in her bed. You tell me how many breeders have their dogs in bed with them. She has 5 to 8 lb females that she breeds and she uses small males. Thiis has always been done as LONG as I can remember. I've been hanging around since the 80's with breeders. Only time you don't use small males is with show dogs.As for her website name. Her and I sat up half a night coming up with names that go with Tanya. She sell dolls for God's sake! She has TONS of them! So thats where we came up with the Tanya's Tiny Tots. Tots are kids/ dolls get it? Geez. Tanya is a great lady and a great friend. She is honest about her dogs also.Guess what, I won't buy from another breeder again BUT Tanya. She don't bull s--- she's honest. Most breeders dont feed their dogs to keep them small. I see that with owners too! They should be asamed just feeding tinies JUST hard food. Get your dogs teeth cleaned and stop using that as an excuse.FEED YOUR DOGS!My tinies eat me outta house and home!!!!! This practice is TERRIBLE. PS this is not ment for Tanya. She feeds her dogs and feeds them VERY well. |
