| OH MYYYYYYY! Now what??? Oh dear, it's like they say..."be careful what you wish for".......the little Yorkie that was lost and found by acquaintances I just picked up awhile ago. He's extremely cute and very very sweet. He's also very hyper, which Max is not . I'm not sure what to do right now. He hasn't been neutered and he's chasing Max constantly and has started trying his best to hump him. I think it's upset Max to the point that he's starting to vomit clear fluid. Max was perfectly find before I got this little guy home. As I'm sitting in the chair at the computer, I have Max on the desk to keep him away from the new guy and the new guy is trying his best to jump up here to get to Max (he's also very vocal...not barking, just "talking". If I put him on my lap, he constantly tries to get to Max. How should I handle this? I really need to go to the store to get the little guy some food, as he's pretty thin, and Max has only diet food. I'm afraid to contain the new guy b/c he scratches on the door and this isn't our house, and if I let him run around, he "marks" everything! HELP! This is the guy I'm hoping belongs to someone else, but she won't be home til after 6 pm and then I'll email her some pics of him. Now I'm REALLY hoping he's hers, LOL. What have I done????

| I don't have a playpen, but I have a large cage type of thing that I got for my cats when we moved (only I loaned it to my girlfriend and I'd have to go get it). Do you think it would be ok to put him in a decent sized crate? If I do, where should I put it? I'm a little frantic right now, I feel like I"ve done something really wrong. He's such a darling little guy and he really wants to play with Max, but I think Max has had enough of him at least for now. Plus, I had no sleep last night b/c the guy who was supposed to call me when he got off work and then bring the dog over, never did and when I called him, he said his son had gone and taken the dog to someone else. I was so upset after thinking it might possibly belong to someone (I mean, it obviously did, but someone that I think I might have found) and they KNEW that and still gave it to someone else without finding out first. I cried all night and couldn't sleep (and I had shut off my cellphone b/c I was so mad)....when I turned it on this morning, he'd called and said that he was mistaken and his daughter still had the dog, so that's why it took so long to get him here. Please pray that he belongs to this lady. It would be so wonderful to get him to his real home and family. Plus, she's offering a substantial reward, so the girl who found him will be happy about that too!

| Oh...and is there anyway to keep him from trying to hump Max? It scares Max to death. I mean, other than grabbing Max away from him?

| I think that is just normal yorkie behavior when they are in a new situation with a new dog. When we got our first yorkie (adult) he was fine in the car on the way home (six hours), very calm and docile. When we got him home and introduced him to our new westie it was just as you described!! Humping and panting like mad! But by the next day or so he had calmed down quite a bit and was fine. Hope that the home you are thinking of is the right one! I don't think it would hurt him to be in a crate while you are gone and it sure would save your house!

I really appreciate your input; it would be great if he just wouldn't jump on Max, but right now, I think Max is wondering WHAT the heck is going on in his kingdom and I really think it's upsetting him. It's hard to try to watch him and take him outside without Max, but he just won't leave Max alone . In fact, at the moment, I have Max in my bedroom with the door shut so he can be away from him and the little guy is standing on his hind legs trying to look in the bed that I have sitting on the desk. It really helps to know that hopefully he won't be so frantically running all over and maybe chill out about Max! Can he hurt Max? He's just slightly taller but he weighs at least 2 lbs less. I can only imagine how much his people must miss him.

| Should I let he and Max play together if I'm right there? As long as he's not humping Max I mean? Sorry for so many lame questions, but Max is the only dog I've ever had and only his little sister has been in our house. Does it matter where I put the crate? I mean, should I put it in a room and close the door where Max isn't or should I put him out in the family room where he can see outside and see the birds?

| It might be a good idea to take them both out for a very long walk and tire them out, the new guys seems to have a lot of energy that needs to be released. |

| Thank you thank you; I appreciate any and all advice! As the day has gone on, things are really improving! He's such a love, I'm half hoping he won't belong to this lady . Well, actually I was half hoping that to begin with. He doesn't seem to be marking in the house (from what I've found anyhow) anymore and he's stopped humping Max! I am going to take them both out for a walk in a bit when it's a little cooler outside (it's almost 90 right now). I have another question though; the little guy is so thin, and I'm sure it's from not eating for awhile. The girl who found him was feeding him Pedigree dry food only, and I went and got a small bag of it just so I wasn't changing everything in his entire life all in one day. I also gave him some Hill's I/D b/c I feed Max wet food too, and I would have felt bad not having something for him (and Max is on a low calorie/low fat diet, not I/D, I just keep a can on hand for emergencies). Anyhow, little guy is so thin, you can feel every vertebrae in his spine, his haunches and his ribs. How often should I feed him and how much do you think? He absolutely WOLFS down any and all food, except for some peanut butter "pupcorn" treats I just bought. I hate to leave food down for him b/c I know Max will scarf it up (it's like they're having a race when I put the food bowls down, LOL) along with his own. So, should I give him a certain amount like several times a day? I'm attaching a couple of photos that the hopeful owner sent me and a couple that I took today (they're terrible, I know), what do you all think? Doesn't it look a lot like the same dog? Oh...his real coloring on his body is very silvery/blue.....it looks darker in my photos. The first two are my photos; the others are the lost dog.

| I leave bowls out of dry food for my yorkies all day so they can go nibble whenever they want to. They usually always eat good after coming home from a walk too which does help to tire them out. :^) Did the owner say what the yorkies name was? Does he respond to it when you call him?
