| When is the right time to get another Yorkie? I have lost the love of my life and I am so sad. I want my baby back but I know that's not possible. So when is the right time to get another Yorkie? And what is the best way to find a reputable breeder? |

| I'm so sorry for your loss. I do understand. I got my first (and only) Yorkie just a few weeks after losing my 15 year old toy poodle who was my "first-born". It was a good friend of mine (another dog lover) who helped me see that it wasn't "wrong" to get another furbaby so soon. A long talk with my long-time vet also helped me get through the decision. I think Tatum did help heal my heart and we don't regret getting her so soon. Wishing you all the best.....

| My sweet 7yo Gizmo died in March. I was so devastated. I started looking for another about 5 ot 6 weeks later. I brought home our little Hailee in June. She is the sparkle in my day now. She didn't replace Gizmo in any way other that they are the same breed. They are as different as night and day. We love her just as much as Gizzie and she really helped us heal.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry to hear about your baby. Welcome you have come to a good place to talk about your loss and questions on a new baby. Personally when I loose my beloved baby I find it helps me to go out and find another one to share my love with. I usually last a bout a week without one. You will know when your ready.

| So sorry to hear about your loss. When I lost Lacy after 13 years, I went out and bought a new puppy very quickly. Don't feel guilty, you're not trying to replace your baby, but your heart can hold love for more than one. Don't rush into buying a puppy because your lonely, make sure you find a healthy one with the qualities and size you are looking for. |

| I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I recently lost a puppy at only seven months. We were away on a cruise out of the country and i couldn't get home to maxx(he was a s**tzu) I loved that boy with all my heart. He had an amazing personality and i didn't know if i would have room for another. But as the days went by I began looking for a new baby. I got my first yorkie, Louie Vuitton.( two months later) He is such a sweet boy and he loves me like no other pet. I know maxx sent him to me. Maxx is still in our thoughts every day. Every once in awhile someone will call Louie Maxx by mistake. I would encourage you to start looking now and you will know when you are ready, you will find the one that just melts your heart. . I will keep you in my prayers I know how tuff it is to get through this loss. hugs and kisses, annette and louie |

| When we lost Oscar we didn't want to get another dog right away, in fact, we didn't even thought about getting another dog for a long time, but as time elapses and your heart begins to heal you can't help but to think about gettng another doggie. That is your heart telling you that it's ready to share its love once again. You will know when is time.

| So sorry about your loss. We lost our cocker in December and got another one right away...we were contantly comparing him to our first one and we didnt do our research, just wanted to ease our pain. Needless to say he is with a retired couple now as he just didnt fit our lifestyle. I decided to try a different breed and we adopted Darla in May and Reece 4 weeks ago. Maybe try a yorkie of the opposite sex this time? You will know in your heart when the time is right. Dawn |

| Thanks to everyone for your support. Thanks to everyone for your support. I'm having a really tough time with this. But I truly don't think I'm ready yet to take another dog into my life as a lifetime commitment. But admitedly I am very sad and depressed. I have opted to foster homeless Yorkies that have not yet found their forever home. Maybe in time I will be ready to be a Yorkie mom. Again thanks to everyone who expressed their sympathies. |

| I understand how you are feeling. My two guys passed away within a year of each other (Spock was 13...Sept. 2004 and Bumpy was 16...August 2005). It was very difficult for both my husband and me so we weren't sure if we wanted to get another to give our hearts to. I was very sad at losing both of them even though they lived long, for the most part, healthy lives. You will know when the time is right. Within a few months I started looking online at petfinder, thinking that I would not look for a puppy and adopt an older dog. I saw Sean in February and fell in love with him right away. The adoption process was thorough but didn't take too long. For me...the right timing. He will never "replace" Bumpy and Spock. They each had/have different personalities. As already said...you will know when the time is right. |

| Today is especially tough today marks 4 weeks without my sweet pup. I had been doing better but had a complete breakdown last night. I hope my foster dog shows up soon. I'm very lonely. Thanks to everyone who offered kind words.
