| RIP My Little Baby Lola The most terrible thing happened to my family this past weekend. My poor little Lola passed away after being viciously attacked by a pit bull. I am 5 months pregnant and this pit bull charged through my back door (he belongs to the neighbors) and grabbed my little baby. I tried to fight him off her by hitting him over the head with a flashlight I happened to have in my hand, but it took my 300lb husband to choking him to get him to finally release her(he came running when he heard my screaming) The literally threw the dog out the back door and slammed it shut. We rushed her to the emergency vet, but the pit bull had broken her ribs and punctured her lungs and the vets recommended humanely euthanizing her because they did not feel she would make it until possible surgery the next day. We got to hold her snuggled in a blanket to say goodbye. She was licking our faces and even wagging her tail. We are completely heartbroken. We lost out first yorkie suddenly from a car accident 2 years ago and now this. We still have Milo, and have decided he is going to be an only dog for a long while (maybe forever) with the baby coming. Lola was his leader so he seems lost without her. He ate when she ate, she would jump in their toy box and take all the toys out for them to play, he keeps wandering the house aimlessly (which he has never done before). We are trying to take him as many places as possible so he's not alone and do positive training and giving him lots of love. It has been hard on us all. In regards to the pit, we immediately went to the police and filed a report. The dog was taken by animal control the same day and quarantined for 10 days. The animal control officer has stated in working with him that he is extremely animal aggressive. And after hearing our story and the speaking to the other neighbors he is going to recommend that "The dog be destroyed" his words, not mine. We have a hearing tomorrow at 11 to decide the pit's fate. I am beside myself with worry and stress. I pray they do not let this dog return to the neighborhood, it could be Milo, or my baby next. I keep trying to think what I could have done differently to save her, but everyone keeps telling me I'm lucky he didn't turn on me because I could have lost the baby, but I don't feel lucky at all. When we approached the neighbor about the vet bills, they stated "we will try to contribute towards them" so it looks like we will be going to court again with these people. I'm just in shock, sorry it was so long, I just needed to get it all out, thanks for listening... RIP My Sweet Little Girl Lola 7/12/11 - 9/8/13 ~Mommy Loves You~

| I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the heartache you feel. Milo must feel so lost right now. I was looking at Lola's pics in your album. I could plainly see her sweet personality and what a beauty she is. Rest in peace, sweet angel Lola.

| I just can't imagine how I'd react to someone letting his dog do that. Reading this (and plenty of other stories like it here) just fills me full of rage at ignorant pit bull owners. I just can't imagine losing the apple of my eye like that. I just can't even predict what my reaction would be in your shoes.

| I'm just so sorry Little Lola had to die like that because of someone else's inability to control his animal.

| How absolutely heartbreaking and scary. I'm so sorry for your loss. This will be such a conflicting time for you with such good things happening on other fronts. What a violation. Be kind to yourself, take care of yourself, make sure you and yours are safe.

| I am at a loss for words, I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet girl. This is so tragic, you went through something no one should have to go through in their own home. Those people should be ashamed to bring that dog back home into a neighborhood with other pets and children. So I would be getting as much press on this as you possibly can. Frankly I am surprised the police would allow them to let the dog return. We are not talking about an attack on the street but in your own home. Why was the dog off leash or out of a fenced in yard. I know this is a hard time but you need to do whatever you can to make sure this dog does not return to your neighborhood. Call the papers, call the TV, call lawyers, put flyers out all around your street, do it in Lola's memory, it will not bring her back but it will insure it does not happen again.

| I see you are in MA, below is some State specific info from an attorney that works on these type of cases. Please do what you can to remove this dog from your street. It takes a special person to own and train a pit bull, it seems like your neighbor is not that type of person. If I had a dog that killed anyone's pet I would be doing what ever I could to pay and take care of things. Injury Law Center®: Massachusetts Dog Bite & Animal Attack Attorneys

| I am so very sorry for the loss of your baby Lola. I can't imagine having to witness such a horrible attack, right in your own home. I do hope that the owners will be held responsible and have to pay dearly.
