I am at a loss for words, I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet girl. This is so tragic, you went through something no one should have to go through in their own home. Those people should be ashamed to bring that dog back home into a neighborhood with other pets and children. So I would be getting as much press on this as you possibly can. Frankly I am surprised the police would allow them to let the dog return. We are not talking about an attack on the street but in your own home. Why was the dog off leash or out of a fenced in yard. I know this is a hard time but you need to do whatever you can to make sure this dog does not return to your neighborhood. Call the papers, call the TV, call lawyers, put flyers out all around your street, do it in Lola's memory, it will not bring her back but it will insure it does not happen again.
