So sorry for our loss. I know how painful this is. We lost a dog in December. It is so hard to loss our little family members. I looked for some pet grieving groups. It helps some. My heart is still broke and breaks for you. Hugs

Thank you everybody for you lovely thoughts, comments, and prayers. You all are just the BEST! I'm sad, and today I washed and packed up all her things, but I do have lovely memories, and I'm grateful Lucy was part of my life.

Kim,
I am so sorry that you lost your precious Lucy. Your kindness to her, changed her whole life and yours. I do believe our pets show us what's important in life. They give their all, appreciate every smile, wag their tails till their whole body shakes with joy just seeing us walk in the door. They leave the most wonderful memories despite the ripping pain at their absence. I lost Abby recently and not a day goes by that I don't come across something that brings her memory quickly back to me.
It's easy to take in the perfect puppy but to take in a senior with lots of medical issues, knowing their time with you will be short is the most generous act of love one could give. I admire you for taking her in and giving her the perfect spot to spend the rest of her life. I'm sure she felt more love than ever before and has left you too with lessons to last a lifetime. I wish there was an easy way to take away the pain and fill the void that hurts soo much.

I'm so sorry to read about your loss! I'm new to this forum and I don't really know how to navigate around the site yet. I came across this site because I'm frantically researching kidney failure in yorkies and this site popped up. My little baby wasn't feeling well for the past few days vomiting and not eating like she used too. I took her to my vet and he did blood work and informed that her kidneys are in bad shape. She is on the iv fluid drip but her numbers haven't come down like the vet would like. My little girls name is Tink and she's 9 years old. I had NO clue about this disease before this and I'm just a crying mess since yesterday.

It is so very hard to lose our furbabies. I wish I could do or say something to take away the pain. I know I can't but I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Kim, I am so very sorry for your loss. Your story of Lucy deeply touched my heart. You and Lucy learned so much about love together as you loved, cared for, and protected your very precious baby. You are a very special person, and you and Lucy were so lucky to have each other. I loved Ashley through all of the stages of her life, and although she was different with her dementia, I grew to love my baby even more during that time. Though everything in her world was confusing to her, Ashley understood about love. She knew that we loved her and that we would do anything to protect her. Your Lucy learned how beautiful love can be because of you and George. That love you shared will forever remain in your heart. Love last forever, and your love and memories of Lucy will keep her alive for you. I hope they comfort you and that they make you smile when you think of your precious little girl.
