Monday afternoon, my baby Raven was struck by a truck and killed while out walking with my uncle. I'm a real mess. I never imagined a pain like this. My husband and I have not been able to conceive a child, so Raven was my child! The house sits quiet. No little feet scurrying around no wet kisses no one waiting for me at the door. I'm truly heartbroken. My uncle is a mess, blaming himself for the accident. I don't blame him because he loved Raven just as we did. He watched him everyday for almost three tears. People have tried to be understanding but they just don't fully realize the impact this has had on me.

I am so glad you have joined YT please share your memories about Raven with us all. I found YT after the loss of our Cassie, I know the loss you are feeling, i honestly can say it wasn't myself finding this wonderful site, I believe God led me here. So many folks here helped me get through that difficult time.

I hope that it won't be long and you will find it in your heart to get another, as we did, we knew our Cassie would want us to carry on in sharing the love we held in our hearts for another, after much prayer in our search for another, so our Baby Blessing came to be.

Raven is forever in God's arms, with our Cassie and all others.

My prayers are with you and your family．I understand your pain and loss. Our Mattie, an English Springer, (my youngest son's dog) was run over last year while on a hunting trip. It was so hard, especially for my son who saw it happen - we were just devastated．It still hurts my heart to think about it- it was an accident yet, I can't help but wish ( even now!!) that I had kept Mattie home that weekend instead of letting my son take her on a hunting trip... We went months without replacing her. I didn't know how long was "right" to wait for another. Our whole family was sad. Even Charlie, our Yorkie, moped around. Our house felt empty. If I had it to do over, I would not wait so long. I must tell you, getting a new puppy was what helped us heal the most.
We still miss Mattie, have her picture in our family room, and will forever love her memories. But getting Emma ( another Enlish Springer) brought joy back in our home and a best friend for my son. And Charlie, is thrilled to have a sister again.
I believe that having a dog just adds so much love and joy to a home. I know you are grieving, but when you feel up to it- look for another dog to love. I really believe that is the best cure for a broken heart. I will keep you in my prayers.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby Raven. I know how much your heart is hurting and the tears that don't stop. I lost my 13 year old Chipper 4 years ago and still think about him everyday. My heart didn't stop hurting until I brought home my baby girl Piper. Chipper and Piper are totally different in looks and personalities but I love Piper as much as I did Chipper. Piper didn't take the place of Chipper but she brought me happiness again. When your ready find room in your heart for a new baby.

I am so sorry for your loss! I found YT a year ago when my Bunkey suddenly became ill and passed. The members here were all so very kind and caring and it helped me to be able to talk with those that would understand the pain in my heart for the loss of my baby boy.

I pray that time will ease your pain and that you will remember only the good memories that you made with your baby.

I know how hard it is to lose a puppy who's a member of the family. I lost my first yorkie Lisa the same way, except she was hit by a car. I still cry over her.

What you are going through is one of the most painful & stressful things a human can go through - the loss of a loved one and beloved family member. You will go through many phases over the next weeks and find yourself a mess at times but it's all to be expected, even though "it's just as dog"(as so many refer to them). My close friend who is a very wise person told me about losing a dog that it's not who it is in your life as much as what that person or pet meant to your life that makes some losses so much more painful than others, never mind the species. I was telling him that losing my little Yorkie actually hurt worse than when my aunt died and I didn't understand why I was suffering so much more over losing my dog. I felt so guilty! But what he said made sense as Scotty(my first Yorkie) was my constant companion and my best friend and my child and my watch dog and my entertainment & on & on and we spent almost every moment together except for the times I couldn't take him with me. It dawned on me why I was in such pain. Scotty had totally filled my life and I only saw my aunt a few times a year and never lived with or spent very much time with her. I realized then how powerful a love one could have for a tiny dog one lives with vs. a family member one may not have a strong relationship with. So grieve as much as you need and know that there are many people everywhere that understand your deep, deep hurt. One day when enough time has passed and the pain begins to lessen some, wonderful memories will begin to take over the bad things and your healing will begin. I hope a time will come when you can know another such wonderful relationship as you had with little Raven. He would want you to be that happy again. R.I.P., Little One. ♥

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Raven. How tragic this has been for you and I know it is not an easy thing to go through. Your poor uncle I feel for him too and you need to comfort him. Please take a day at a time and remember Raven loved all of you. Right now he is probably with my dearest Keally running free and no more pain or suffering.
