| Lost a pup today hello all, I'm new here and I own two wonderful yorkies for 2 years (georgia and chewy). My mother-in-law gave them to me when she and her husband moved back from guam. She had been breeding yorkies for many years and wanted to spread the love for them over in Guam. However, they came back before bringing the two yorkies over. Therefore as a birthday present she gave them to me. My husband and I discussed breeding them and I decided that with his experience and the quality of the two that they would make wonderful puppies! My Georgia had 5 puppies on the 16th. I was very shocked she had that many and that all had lived... that is until today. One of the pups began crying over the last few days. we kept an eye on the weight and didn't notice a difference til yesterday when this little guy's weight was only 6 1/2 ounces to the others' 9-10 ounces. We got worried, fed him and hope that he would pull through but feared the worse. After feeding him some formula and holding him on the pad for a while he finally made a few more whimpers, moved his weak head and passed away. It is SOOO hard losing this little guy and I'm trying to cope with this loss. I guess it comes with the territory but I am so grateful for such wonderful dogs and puppies. Although I wish we could've saved him, he is no longer suffering and in a better place and we did all that we could do. As I recall from one of my fav. movies "where the heart is" where Novalee takes her baby she states, " how could you love something so much you barely met?" I feel that way right now and will always have a special place in my heart for my little buddy. Thank you for your time in reading my way of dealing with this. Jessica |

| thank you so much. They are doing very well and so is Georgia. the other one was as well until a few days ago. I am not looking forward to her crying the next few days, but I think she will be okay. I'm sure she kinda knows that he is no longer with us. Again thanks. I have Chewy to help me cope with the loss. he is a good snuggle buddy. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I feel your pain, we lost one at 30 days after the vet had said he would live a week. It breaks your heart. I still remember our little 'Peanut'. Breeding can cause heart break sometimes and it is hard to be tough. I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope the four that are left are healthy and happy fur babies.

| It is getting easier knowing that he is no longer suffering. It just broke my little heart hearing him cry and trying all I could for him. I'm not sure what happened to him, whether he got booted by the others and didn't get enough nutrition from mama or if something wasn't working right in his little body. My husband told me that I would have to deal with death if I chose to breed these two, and unfortunately I had to. But it is probably Mother Nature's way of telling me it is for the best, Georgia shouldn't have had that many pups for a first litter. Thanks for all the support everyone! |

| I am so sorry for your loss. I think that losing a pup has got to be the hardest for a breeder. I have admiration for breeders bc there is so much involved than just the actual breeding itself. I am sure it breaks your heart when you lose a pup. So sorry but I am glad the others are doing fine.
