Hello From Indianapolis I have just adopted a 5 month old yorkie and wonder how often you feed your yorkie and any tricks to house breaking. I am trying to get mine to use pee pads since it is so cold here in the winter.

Also Live in Indy Hello Suzy Q 48. I also live in Indianapolis. I got my newest "baby" (Kody)from Goldenray Yorkies in Dayton, Ohio. Cher was awesome about answering all kinds of questions and also has a very informative website. Kody was ~5 months old when I got him. I feed him 2x day. As far as housetraining, I am also not an expert. However, I agree with deb4air in that consistency is the key. Dogs do well with a routine. In addition to the YT forum, there are lots of local resources in Indy that might be helpful, i.e., indyhumane.org has lots of good info on housetraining, crate training, etc. Best wishes to you and your "baby".

Bob77od Hi all. We live in Lebanon, outside of Indianapolis. We adopted our second Yorkie (Claire) on New Years Day and she is only 2 pounds at 4 months, but eats all the time. We have a 2 yr old Yorkie also and he is showing her the ropes. We started her on Science Diet Puppy with some milk on it, but she prefers the larger chunks of food from Costco (Lamb and Rice). Also have a Lab. They like to sleep together. Bob

I'm about 2 hours east of Indy! My son is going to Butler next year! As for feeding the yorkies...I feed then about 1/4 cup of high quality dry food twice a day. As for potty training, crating is the only answer I'm afraid, and I'm not very good at it. BTW...congratulations on your new baby!!!! Boy or girl?
