| Having problems with breeders Hello, I am new to this board, and I am not to sure if I am posting on the right one. I have been looking for a puupy for the last two years with no luck. I live on the coastal region of South Carolina. My biggest problem with breeders here is that they keep on changing their minds about selling yorkies. I had placed a deposit on a little boy two months ago, Then I receive a telephone call from the breeder telling me that she has change her mind about selling him. She stated that she was not planning to sell the boy or girl. This has happen four times this year. Is this the normal way that breeders conducted business? or are they just pulling my leg? |

| Wow, four times is a lot. Usually reputable breeders only cancel if they find out that there is a problem with their puppy. Have you looked in the Yorkies for Sale section here on YorkieTalk? It is also possible to get one shipped to you as long as you are absolutely sure of the breeder. Some breeders won't do this though.

| Alot breeders reserve the right to cancel the sale but it sounds like you are having some bad luck that so many are doing it. Have you considered YT breeders?

| I will need to talk to my husband before we consider going through a breeder again. He has become very upset about the last four times, and has no real trust in them. |

| As a breeder, with a new litter by the way, I always reserve the right to cancel any sell. i have done that a couple of times when I found out something was wrong with the homes they were going to. |

| I found out that two of the breeders took deposits from several people and only had 4 puppies. We have a home interview when we adopted a english beagle ten years ago and have never been charge with animal abuse. So I don't believe that is the case with us. I have learn a lot about breeders today. I never knew that breeders had the right to cancel out on you. Thank you for all your information. |

| I had a hard time finding a reputable breeder. I finally went through the Yorkshire Terrier of America Club (www.ytca.org). You should look on there for breeders. Breeders sign contracts to be listed through the YTCA agreeing to be responsible breeders (e.g., keeping pups until they are 12 weeks, etc.). Good luck! |
