Don't forget me, I have the 4 lb yorkie, that ended up being 14 lbs..she has lost a pound though....LOL

By the yorkie weight chart, it shows she will be over 7 lbs.

And, mine did keep growing after 6 mos..which, she should have slown down, but she kept growing and growing..she probably grew until she was about 2 1/2 or 3 years old, but, this I believe, is very unusual

here's an example with people....

both parents at mixed black and white and look mostly black they have a set of twins one turns out completly white and the other black..... if you asked people if the white one was black every one would say nooooo that she came from diff parents blah blah blah when in reality she has the same genes as her black sister she just looks diff lol just like your baby she has siblings that look full on yorkies and she came out diff that doesnt make her a mix come on people lets think outside the box i posted a pic of my example of a real life couple this happened to with there twins!!!!!!

Must be something with the larger Yorkies. Buddy grew until he was
3yrs. He was 13lbs for two yrs and he weighed in last May at 15lbs.
I am still hoping the Vet's scale was wrong.

Im sorry tomsay this but you got scammed, Your pup is def a mix. It is still very cute and bless you for keeping it god knows there are plenty of dogs at the shelter, and for the same reason. You should do something about getting your $$$ back.

Not all yorkies stop growing at 6 months..one of my yorkies continued to grow after the first year also. She is now 7 lbs.

I would say she's a mix based off the photo. Short story is, you guys have a wonderful puppy that you all adore and love and that's what it was all about. Now we get to watch her grow and be spoiled. Congrats on the new edition.

my boy didn't stop growing until he was pretty much a year old, but that was because he's so tiny... he's only 3 1/2 lbs. Does your yorkie shed like the short coated dogs?

may havemixed with fox terrier. I have never seen a yorkie like that.
I believe you should have the puppy tested to prove that what they told you see true. If the puppy is not pureblood consider sueing.

The people that I bought her from were very, very nice. There were 5 puppies total in the litter. She actually had a pictue of the litter and Sassy was the only one that did not look like a typical yorkie. The mom and dad were the only two dogs at the house. She does look like she has Yorkie in her. But to me she looks like a mix. Sorry you got had. She is a cutie, though! You'll just have to get her a Yorkie playmate.

This is not a purebred the original poster got. I do pet grooming on a Yorkie Shih Tzu mix and the colour pattern is exactly that of a Yorkie. However the coat is kind of like a thinner Yorkie coat but structure including ears is Shih Tzu.
If both parents look like yorkies but actually are mixed breeds, then in the whelping box breeding the two parents is where it will show up that this is not from two bona fide purebred parents.
I also once groomed a Yorkie/Maltese cross that you would be sure was a purebred Yorkie but was not. You would find out that is wasn't when you bred it even if it was to a pb Yorkie, it would produce pups not looking like a Yorkie even just one while others in the litter may look Yorkie.

I don't think she's a purebred yorkie at all. I agree with Lorraine that the parents are probably mixes that just look like yorkies. The one with AKC papers may not even have been purebred if it came from a BYB who registered it as coming from two purebred parents - that happens all the time. Her hair looks VERY short - no long hair at all on the face...honestly, I think she will always be a short-haired dog.

I'm originally from New Boston and my parents still live there? Who did you get your dog from? I know one lady from Sims that breeds yorkies, schnazuers, and min-pins

Okay my coco has the same face and body structure does that make her a yorkie shih tzu mix???? Nooo she's a pure breed there are yorkies that are up to 20 pounds does that make them silkies noooo my coco is 7 pounds and people always say she's a mix because according to them she is big but she's within standard what we need to realise is that not all yorkies look alike if you saw a blue yorkie would you call that a mix too no I think not they just look diff but are pure yorkies just like the all gold yorkies so gold they look almost orange are they mixes nope they are pure breed a lot or people have said that red legs are mixes but there not its a gene defect I'm sure if people would have seen the pics that were posted on here early of the red leg pup they would have said it was a mix to but did u see the pic of it now it grew hair yes it took a long long time but it turned out to be yorkie.... take my example with humans would you have said the whit twin doesn't belong to the parents because the black and she came out completly white no we have to keep an open mind I'll post a pic of me and my brother so you can see how diff we look yet we came from the same parents I just need to get on the computer because I'm on my friends celly

I got "taken" the first time around too...by the sweetest thing ever!!! Tootie is 16.5 lbs of pure LOVE! He is the sweetest thing and so so special to me! He brings so much joy to my life I wouldnt know what to do without him... I still had to have my "yorkie" fix so Tootie got a baby sister! Now I have my"yorkie" and my "yorkie".. LOL
I wouldnt trade my baby boy for anything in this world!
I am very glad that you love here anyway... she is very sweet looking, and just for the record, she does have the yorkie look....
