I feel so bad for you! But I'm so glad to hear that Dakota is going to be ok! Max isn't as small as Dakota is, but our bed is really high off the floor and I'm always worried that if he jumped off, he might hurt himself. Is there any chance you could put something at the end of your bed for her to jump onto? I'm not sure if she just fell off accidentally or if she was trying to get down. I had a vanity bench that I no longer have a vanity to sit it at, so I put it at the end of the bed; works great for Max to jump onto when he wants to get down...I still try to pick him up to get him down though. I'll try to attach a photo...you could use almost anything; maybe even get some batting and fabric and staplegun it to a big sturdy box if you don't have anything else around.
