| I don't know for sure, but i've heard that it helps... i only got one Yorkie, and she's so spoiled i don't think it would work for her, but if yours is good with other doggies it should help, they'll keep each other entertained... Nikki&Belle

Well doggie number one is a puppy still just at 5 months and he owns my shadow but knows I am head dog, just praying it helps. Today I wanted to run away and go in the city just a bit which is not far from me to grab some pants and boots. Damned if he will let me, one set of bawling Right now he is at my feet covered in my husbands wool sweater LOL only head showing and he just loves it so while he naps LOL. I think we make this this way dont we? Last edited by soccbydo; 10-17-2007 at 04:52 AM.

| I would give them each a super delicious treat only when you leave so they look forward to you leaving. When you come in don't make a fuss but after 10 min. or so hug them and play with them. It worked for me.

| Some dogs are just needy... it's cute but can become into a big problem. I think you should try to work with this puppy first and then later get another one. |

| I give my puppy a treat each time I leave. He use to cry really bad, but now hes getting use to mommy being gone sometimes. When I'm at home hes still stuck to me like glue. Lol. Hopefully, when I get another Yorkie, they both will keep each other company. |

Glue is joke here. It is cute really, but can be annoying. I have tried the treats. The problem is that I am home 24/7 with him, he sees me and me alone, the rest comes back 7pm or so. Now he is making a stink when I come back and wines when I leave. I dont know for fact that he is bawling the entire time. he may be wining quetly or sleeping. But treats dont seem to work. He attributes the yummies I leave as mommy is going someplace and I am not going with her. To the other poster above, if I dont get a puppy now, this breed I have will not tolerate a new puppy very well in my home. Its now or never. Breeder also recommends this strongly at this time. Also I want a yorkie baby My baby now is a sweet boy, very sweet, not very needy, just wants to see me at all points and times . Even bathing he tries to peep over the tub, hahahah, too small cant reach only ears at tipping up there I will try the treats again. Can you recommend something homemade maybe? The only thing I can see him going nuts for is a slab of raw green tripe

| We got another dog shortly after getting Jack, partially because my boyfriend really wanted his own dog and partially because we thought it would help Jack with his separation anxiety. It is a lot of work having two puppies but I feel better knowing he has a playmate and a cuddle buddy. |

| I was just discussing this with my trainer. There is a difference between a temper tantrum and separation anxiety. Anxiety is more panting, pacing, etc. Your pup may have just learned that screaming gets your attention and gets him what he wants!

But to answer your question, a 2nd dog won't fix problems with the first dog. My suggestion is to get one trained and then get another. Sammy has been GREAT for Loki, but Loki was already well trained. They are good playmates and wrestle a lot so they wear each other out. I'm glad I have two. I just can't imagine having two and trying to train two!!

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Hmmm I'm not sure The reason I say this is because my Tatum DEFINITELY has separation anxiety. If I am gone for too long (even when her daddy is here with her ) - she will start chewing the carpet that leads to the entry way (which is right by the door where I walk out, and she knows this). She just DOES NOT like mommy to leave her AT-ALL. She will also lay there right by the door and cry, cry, cry like a little baby wondering where her mommy went My poor little girl! She is just so sweet though - I love her sooooo MUCH
