| Have you ever had to surrender a Yorkie? Unfortunately it looks like we are going to have to do it. Our youngest one has bitten us a couple of times and actually drew blood once. He's gotten into vicious fights with the older one, and he's the one that bares his teeth first and escalates the fights. It's all out of jealousy for attention but it still isn't acceptable to us. The biting is really the biggest issue, though. I have never had a pet do that and it's very troubling to us that he would do that. He also growls quite a bit and we can't even figure out many times just what he's growling at. We actually have to put him away in the crate quite often because we worry about him getting in a fight or just being ill-temperamented in general. The Humane Society won't take him because he's bitten. I don't want to sell him because I don't feel it's right of me to pawn off a dog that has injured us onto other people, especially if they have kids or other pets. I don't want that on my conscience. So soon we'll have to take him to the pound. I've never done that before. I've been told by some people that since he has bitten that he should be put down, but we decided we'll just take him to the pound and we can let them handle it as they feel fits best. It sucks but we have to. Have you ever had to do it? |

| Oh please don't take him to the pound. Contact a rescue or adverstise him on here and be upfront about the trouble you have had. He may do just fine in a house where he's the only dog.

| I'd be surprised if a rescue would take dogs with such aggression problems. especially if the dog has bitten a person and did it hard enough to bleed. |

| I agree. It is definitely worth some calls. I'm sure they would try to have someone work with him on the biting or have a foster home where he is the only dog. Definitely try that first!!

| A yorkie rescue will take an aggressive dog and so will many others on here for that matter. Many dogs that are in rescue have problems with aggression due to the conditions they had to live in so its not uncommon at all. What have you done to try and stop the aggressive behavior? Have you gone through any type of behavioral training? Or talked to your vet? You don't want to sell him because you don't want that on your conscience but you are willing to take him to the pound and have him put to sleep? Sorry but something just doesn't sound right here
