If I had the courage I would groom Max myself but I'm afraid that I will mess up his coat. Plus I don't think his daddy(DH) would let me groom him.

| Mine cost $30 to groom, and I usually give them around $5 for a tip..think I read somewhere where you should tip them 10%, which means $3 would be sufficient..believe me my neighbor is a groomer, and they make pretty good pay as it is.. |

| Max's groomer costs about $44, so I give him $50. Now that I have Gracie Leigh, I guess I'll just round it out to $100, which is $6.00/dog. He only takes an hour with Max, and I doubt if Gracie Leigh will take more time than that. Absolutely, a Christmas gift - it's just a nice way of saying thank you. No offense, please, but what does your groomer do to warrant a $20 tip?

But, back to your original question...when I get my hair done, I tip my cosomotologist. When I get my dogs groomed, I tip my groomer. Usually, it's a $5 tip.

| Where we used to live, when I only had 2 , I took them to the groomer at our vet's office. She had to "rent" the space from him, always had a bag of home made treats and a new scarf for them, kept me supplied with shampoo & grooming spray (at no extra charge) & was excellent with them both. She charged me $44 for both of them & I'd give her $50. When Rocky was born she was determined that I was going to learn to groom my own dogs. So on grooming day I would go with my dogs & watch/help her groom them. She was a wonderful teacher. We moved 3 years ago, she still sends them new scarves for the holidays and we still send her a present at Christmas.

| When I used to take Crystal it was $45 and I always tip 20% so that is $9 and she did a great job. I am now retired and on a fixed income so I do it my self but if I did bring her in sometime I would think she still deserved the $54 whether I can afford it or not.

| Wow,I feel very cheap cuz I never tip! My groomer always forgets to either shave 2/3 of the outside of Jasper"s ears or to put a bandana on or is finishing him when she told me he would be ready a 1/2 hr earlier! It gets bothersome to me cuz I always have a cab waiting cuz I don"t drive! Any suggestions? She is a good groomer! |

| I dont tip my groomer as I pay enough as it is, IMHO. I pay right at 100 now for 3, and one is just toe clip/bath. He does get a Christmas gift from me. Usually a 30 Chilils Gift Certificate
