Don't let it ruin your day, it's just ignorance or just plain rude. As many have posted it is your choice to take the stroller for your baby's safety. No one has to give anyone else the go ahead on their choices of anything. If we all had the same clothes, color of hair and tastes, what a boring world it would be.

Thank you again everyone! It is nice to know there are people who understand. We had another experience tonight with people's rudeness and what they said about Lulu. It just amazes me how people just say whatever they feel like even if it hurts your feelings.

Next time if they have a kid with them say Oh there goes another ugly kid. MAybe you shouldn't have anymore after that outcome. Maybe it will be lucky enought to get a job in the circus.

Don't 'ya just hate it when people act like that!!

I was thinking about what I'd have said and this is what I came up with:

"At lease mine are in a stroller. Who let you out without a leash?"

I have a stroller and I've used it a couple of times. It makes it easier to take both mine to the vet at the same time and keeps them safe. Makes perfect sense to me.

I remember quite a few years ago, I had my first baby with me in a carrier. A guy came over to me, out of his way mind you. Said to me your not going to tell me that is a dog are you. I looked at him and said of course not, it is a cat, he walked away. I guess he did not like my answer any better then I like his going out of his way to make the comment he did.

I just smiled at him as I said it, rather funny it was. I guess we need to be quick witted at times with our little furbabies.

I recently was at a party WITHOUT Buddy and this lady (a neighbor) made a comment when I said that I had to briefly leave to go check on Buddy, my little Yorkie. She said, "OMG, are you one of THOSE type dog owners? I bet you stroll him around in one of those stupid doggie strollers don't you?" I just about HIT her!!!!!!!! I could not believe she was being so rude!!!! She conintued by saying that doggie strollers were the stupidest thing she had ever seen. Then she said, "dogs are supposed to walked not strolled". I looked at her and said, "go have another drink and mingle with all your friends since you haves so many.....I need to go take Buddy on a stroll in his STROLLLLLLLER." (No one had been talking to her all night....now I know why) lol
I hate this lady to this day!!! We live in an equestrian neighborhood and she rides her horse by our house all the time. So I have to see her but I completely ignore her!!!!
Grrrrrr!!!! I hate rude people!!! I would NEVER make an ugly comment to her about her beloved horse!!!!

Good reply to that nasty lady! It is none of her business what you do with your dog. You don't tell her how to train her horses.

I have a couple of replies for the next time this happens:

"I really didn't ask for your opinion"

"It is pretty pathetic that you get your laughs by making fun of a little dog" (for the rat comment)

Colleen, it's to bad our society has degraded to the point where people will go up to a complete stranger and make rude, hurtful, hateful things without any provocation....

You just have to consider the source and move on, clearly these types of people are lacking in some sort of mental capacity....

I would not resort to replying back in any kind of smart a**ed way to them, it just would make you look just like them.... and that's what you want to avoid

I always think their is some kind of sick jealousy behind a comment like that. I guess it's the way they were raised. Deprived>
