| I don't think it's a fenced area, but I am actually on the phone with them right now to ask questions.

| Sure. I will find out from them if we can bring food and maybe have everyone pitch in $5-10 and I can buy food and get some friends to barbeque for us there. Or maybe even just bring sandwich stuff. Or we can avoid the fee and have everyone bring their own lunches. What is the preference?

| http://www.nps.gov/goga/spug/ You can click on the picnic area to check out where we would be if we chose this place. So here's the official website. The lady said we can use the picnic area at no cost, but the downfall is that there is no reservations. So it's first come first serve. It's not fenced off, but there are picnic tables, grass and we would be near the water. I think it sounds great, I'm just worried about the no reservations part, but I think most places will be like that. The amphitheater she said is available for reservation but it costs $200! Since everyone is coming from near and far, it's already costing money so I was trying to avoid having more money spent. Let me know what you all think.

| That sounds great to me! What a great idea. Since we are all of different backgrounds and cultures, it would be great to share that.

| Anyway to make it a fenced, unleashed dog park? I just think that would be safer and more fun for the dogs. |

| I'm sure we could find another place, like a dog park that has a fenced area. But we just wouldn't be able to eat at a picnic area, or have a really nice view or anything.

| Suggestion Just a suggestion, but how about we do a Yorkie Convention "Day" rather then have people who might not be able to afford traveling far go to one particular event? We can find a day that is mutually available to most if not all and have everyone everywhere hold their own convention. That way we can all celebrate by having our dogs out for a play date? I know it might be a hardship on some people financially as well as stressful for their dogs if they have to sit in the car for like 8+ hours or fly, so how about we do it per location and whereever you are closer to you can join that one? Let me know what you think.

| I just think it'll be a great way for us to feel in some way that we are all sharing in one event even though we cant all be in the same area at the same time. I'd be more then happy to take care of the LA event. Let me know! Noebella, you do San Fran? Lets hope others get in on this!

| Great idea I have already done some investigating for the SoCal area. In Orange county alone there are 6 dog parks, dog beaches. Central Bark, Costa Mesa Bark Park, Huntington Dog Beach, HB Best Friend Beach Park, Laguna Canyon Dog Park, Laguna Niguel Dog Park, also know of two places in Long Beach, one is called the Dog Zone and I will do more investigating for places in LA. I am getting very excited. Let me know if I can help. |
