| Fun times at Petsmart. OK, not really fun. We went to Petsmart yesterday immediately after picking up Iggy to go get some Frontline. I'll say that it was one of the most disgusting ones I've ever been to. Puddles of urine everywhere. We took a turn down the aisle where the cats were being shown and adopted and there was a pretty large pile of feces, along with some smeared feces on the ground. Of course, I recoiled because I HATE that stuff...and we did all we could to make sure our dogs didn't go in it. So we turned down the immediate aisle to the right, and an employee comes over to us and says something like: "Hey!! I can show you where the cleaning station is for that." Of course, I was confused...then I understood. I flat out told her it wasn't our dog and that our dogs couldn't even make piles that big. She insisted that he did do it. I repeated to her that we turned the corner and saw it before our dogs even went over to that area. She made the comment that she saw it "with her own two eyes." She saw that we weren't budging and said "OK I'll just go clean it" and went to comment to another employee about how we weren't going to clean it up and blah blah. My girlyfriend made sure to stick around long enough to watch her get on all fours and clean it up. LMAO!! Then we took off. We were going to buy the flea meds there, but we're going to do it at another store now. You know, I see people having problems with Petsmart here sometimes...maybe Petco is better? |

| Gross! Sorry you had a bad experience! From my experience, the Petcos in Minnesota and Iowa are not nearly as clean as PetSmarts are. I prefer going to PetSmart for this reason, as well as the fact that the employees at PetSmart seem to be more friendly and knowledgeable about things than Petco employees.

| That is why I am SO glad they opened a Pet Supplies Plus not far from us. I don't think I've ever had a good experience in either Petsmart or Petco.

| Personally, I won't shop at Petco at all because of their very irresponsible policies with small animals; they keep little pets like hamsters, rats, cavies and gerbils all together in cages so that the poor baby girls get knocked up before they even get out of the store. Petsmart has a one-sex-per-store policy to protect their critters and their customers from unwanted litters. Sounds like you just hit on a bad apple among the Petsmarts. I'd send a letter to the management and complain-- there was no reason for the employee to be so rude.

| Last time I was in Petco, there was poop on the floor. Smeared. I have not had a good experience with the employees either. I try to go to a feed suppy for livestock that is near me, or order online.

| We have a brand new PetCo and I have to say it's pretty clean. I can't believe that employee acted that way towards you. That's definetly not a good business decision

| That's why I prefer to order most of my stuffs on line and I get it for less money anyway!!! I have a new PetSmart now near me and It's pretty neat and besides I know the manager, Once one of the workers tryy to pull that one on me and I didn't clean it either...I told her" maybe you should do it...That's why you get pay!!! because I disliked her attitude as if i am so irresponsible and not clean it!!! yorkies don't make big ones anyway

| I will not shop at either anymore, around here the people who work there are rude, the store is dirty and they have bad customer service, its sad to, we really have no where to shop we do have a very small pet supply store but its pricy, Tractor supply sells dog food so i go there.

| I think it just depends on the individual store. In my experience I've found Petsmarts to be cleaner and less expensive than Petcos. |

| Me too We also have Pet Supermarket, I have to go there to get Merrick food. Petco's seem to mark up their stuff a lot more

I was telling my store manager today how I read complaints on one of the forums I belong to about some petsmarts. I really want to strive to make the store I work in nothing like these places I read about. Im really hoping to change that stigmata that some petsmart groomers have. I am good at what I do and the dogs are always my first priority.
