| Warning - Watch Your Babies.. Hi guys. I wanted to share something that happened yesterday to my son and I. We took the girls (Tia and our new rescue Lilly) to Petsmart. I first took Lilly out of the car seat and handed her to my 13 yr. old and he started walking towards Pet Smart. As I proceeded to take Tia out, I noticed a car driving slowly towards my son, I figured they were admiring Lilly, but then I noticed that there were three or four men in the car and since I don't like my son talking to strangers I started to walk fast towards him. At this point the car stopped and the driver was looking at Lilly, but not in a "Aww she's cute way." Anyway, as I approached they drove away and I went into the store and shopped. It never dawned on me really until later that night, that I really think they may have been scouting for little dogs to steal and that maybe Lilly and my son could have been a victim had I not walked up to them. I'm not an overreactor who tries to stir things up, this is an honest warning because I truly feel that these men were specifically there in the PetSmart parking lot looking as many people bring their dogs in there, especially puppies they just got. This was the Petsmart in Toms River, NJ. Just be careful with your little ones. Elaine |

YT 2000 Club Member | I am glad nothing happened to your son and dog. People are nuts these day's and steeling animals seems to be heard of more and more! My mother had a simular incident with my niece Taylor who is 10 over the summer. She was helping my mom take her 2 girls for a walk around their neighborhood and Taylor walked a bit ahead when she saw her friend, a strange car slowed down and my mom said it looked like they were talking to Taylor and her friend, so she about ran to catch up. She approached the car and asked if she could help them and they drove off. She called the police and the girls both said they had asked Taylor is she lived their and told her what a cute dog she had and if it was for sale because they were looking for the house that had Yorkies for sale. Well their is no one in my moms neighborhood that has Yorkies for sale and only 3 people in the park have a Yorkie, with 4 being the total # of yorkies, and what the heck does a person have to ask a kid questions like that when their was plenty of adults outside in their yards that they could of talked to! |

| I don't feel that your over reacting at all. In today' society it's always best to be safe than sorry. You just can't trust anyone! Who knows maybe it was your son and not the dog they were looking at. Kidnapping is all over the news daily. I am glad your son and dog are safe and thanks for the warning. Where I live they are doing roof repair. I spotted a man from the roof starring at Buddy for some time. Of course he's a larger Yorkie but they not only steal Yorkies to sell they also steal them and other small dogs for bait! I starred right back at him with a dirty look and he finally looked away. |

| I'm glad all worked out. I only bring mine along when I have too, because I don't even want people to know I have them. I know I'm overprotective, but I'd rather be safe then sorry.

| One of the main reasons that I don't take Izzy and Luna anywhere anymore Thanks for the warning, if it saves ONE pup and their owner from heartbreak, then that's good. I'm glad that you were on the alert!

| Thanks for sharing! I think its important we all keep things like this in mind. I had a somewhat similar thing happen to me here in Cali... Its always amazing to me, when I do take Meka out... how many MEN compliment her and even know the BREED! Im always cautious and usually dont take her out unless Im with my hubby or just going to visit family....

| It could be that one of them had one stolen and they are on the lookout for thier baby. Anyway, safety comes first for sure. |
