| Help Ok, I need some advice please! I have a 9 month old Yorkie and my boyfriend and family think I should sell him because I have been really stressed since I got him but, I just can't seem to part with him. He is a terror though! Let me list all of the problems I have right now and see if anyone has had these problems and have solutions: not sleeping throughout the night and barking loudly until I get up, tearing and chewing up anything and everything, ripping apart his beds and toys, pooping under the bed, peeing on the bed, going through my laundry, biting my ankles and growling and biting my hands constantly, won't sit still for even a minute, hyper hyper hyper! I'm a full time student, work part time and volunteer part time at my local animal shelter. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated. I love Cocoa to pieces and want things to work out. |

| Wow! Sounds like you are going through a lot right now. I wouldn't want to give my baby up either. I'm sure you will get lots of good advice on here. While you are at school, working, volunteering, etc. who watches Cocoa or where does he stay? Does he roam the house while you are gone and for how long? Is he getting plenty of exercise/stimulation? (besides tearing your house up ) I'm just trying to figure out what his set-up is. That way people will be able to give some good tips. Bella is confined to her bathroom while we are gone. I stay at home during the day, so it isn't for long periods, but she has access to her crate, food/water, pee pee pad and LOTS of safe toys. Is Cocoa having accidents or is he not housetrained at all? I think it is hard work training a pup. It takes a lot of consistency and patience. I hope things work out for you and Cocoa. Keep us posted.

| Thank you both for your concern and advice.....here is a little bit of what my schedule is like: I work on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays; on those days I leave for work around 7:30 and Cocoa is alone (in my bathroom) until 3:15 when my sister gets home from school. She takes him out to use the bathroom but, doesn't usually play with him because he is so hyper and she doesn't like it. I then get home around 5:15 and I take him out and then play with him for a few minutes and then let him have roam of my bedroom (I still live at home). On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have school (which is 5 min. away from my house) so, I'm in and out periodically and he is taken out often and gets to play a lot. On Saturdays I volunteer from 7:30 til 12:00 and after that he gets to play and roam my bedroom. On Sundays I go to church in the mornings and like on Saturdays he gets to play and roam my bedroom When I'm not home or at night he stays in the bathroom. He doesn't have accidents in my bathroom ever but, will poop under my bed or pee on the bed. I'm thinking of taking him to doggie daycare on the days I'm at work; no one happens to live in Cullman or Hanceville, AL and is able to babysit for me, huh? That would be wonderful! |

| Alot of the problems you are having are because of things he is doing that puppies do and he will outgrow

| That sounds like a Yorkie puppy to me. Here are some problems I have with Ellie and maybe some solutions for you: Cries at night in crate...let them sleep with you (just don't take them out of crate/bathroom until they are quiet) Poops under bed...block it off (yes Ellie did this all the time) Pees all over...use a diaper or belly band and take outside very often Tears things up...keep them in a confined area Goes through laundry...put the basket up higher Chews on you and bites...say NO and give them a toy and praise That pup should be allowed to roam more than a bedroom. If your pup can't roam the whole house he needs to be taken for LOTS of walks and have a chance to play outside (supervised of course).

| At about 1 yr the biting on us stopped and they destroyed their last thing at a yr and a half. So the 1 yr to 1 1/2 is a turning point
