Are you doing the Tulsa Show?

No, I'm doing Canton, Belton I think and Waco and maybe Conroe since they are weekend shows. I can't take off work for anymore dog shows till NY bummer!

I think most are foregoing the Canton Show this year. and heading up to Fort Smith.

fort smith is after Canton. I think everyone is coming to Canton and foregoing Houston and going to Fort Smith is to my understanding

I was speaking in terms of Lee. I only would allow her to go to a show every other week. She get's overly tired if she attempts to back to back.

ok and here is my last question... I have to leave my little Bailey girl at the hotel when I go to the show dont i? I know its probably a stupid question... its just that she goes almost everywhere with me, but this would be one place I couldnt get away with sneaking her in, in my purse....right?

AKC rules, no unentered dogs on the show site. That doesn't prevent people from taking theirs to the shows.

Several reasons why:

1. Tiring for the dog.
2. Tiring for you, carrying you baby everywhere.
3. Possibility of picking up an illness.

Bottom line, do what you feel comfortable doing.

I recently went to the big Houston AKC show in July, and that show allowed dogs in as long as they were over 6 months and current on vaccinations (although no one checked for those). There were several Pet dogs at the show. I guess it depends on the rules of the show site

I think the point here is, most breeders aren't breeding to create "just" pets. While there are those, who just want to have puppies and sell or give them to friends and family, most breeders aim for high quality, good health, and a good reputation.

Hope you are right about that. Its common for the Az Republic to have at least 30 plus yorkie adds in it every Sunday. I hope they are all breeding good Yorkies, but somehow, I dont think so. I think most here on YT have good intentions. Lynn (even the "odd" colored breeders!! LOL)

Now I dont understand the show world at all. I have a learned a lot about it from the show people here. I no that you are all dedicated to finding and showing the perfect yorkie, but I think that what 1 person loves in 1 yorkie another would find this not so appealing. So I guess its really down to the judge on the day of the show. I just wanna say that I have seen my girl Boots doing what a yorkie was initally breed for. RAT CATCHING. I dare say if there was any shows to show a yorkie doing what it was breed for, my boots would win hands down. LOL. Now thats what I call a show Yorkie. ROFL.

Hon, I don't know if they will ever breed the perfect yorkie but if we didn't have show breeders we would lose our breed completely and there would be no yorkies to enjoy. Some one told me how many years without the quality out there and I can't remember the exact number of years but it wouldn't take all that long. In my area of Ohio I can't even recognize a yorkie anymore.
