Then there is the anger you feel when you get beat by an obviously inferior dog....that you hold in until you are in the car or in your hotel room. |

In my opinion show breeders work hard at what they do to try and improve the breed we all love so much and if sometimes we get passionate about it in the way we express our feelings don't take it as being a hard butt. There is alot of blood sweat and tears that go into breeding that great speciman you want to take in the ring and to see our breed or any other breed respresented less than the best is not taken lightly! Show breeders are very passionate and we think everyone else should be also. As with human children you expect the best for them and show breeders are the same with their breedings! all this talk about showing is getting me anxious to find a show in my area to go to and start taking notes! I am excited! Hehe.... |

Showing and breeding go hand in hand to represent the breed to it's fullist whether it be yorkies or any other breed. To understand why a show breeder gets alittle testy is because some think it's easy just to breed and that's it. To understand the breed you have to know the standard and to know the standard showing a dog really helps you understand why the standard is there. Then you have health issues and a show breeder wants to make sure their breedings are free of the health issues to be able to show and breed the best of the best. It takes alot to breed dogs and to know it is too get in there and do whatever it takes to achieve it. Showing is part of it! Again JMHO! :) Donna |
...kk... Im looking on the info dog website you guys suggested but i need some help here... If it says for example:silky terrier club or golden retriever club ect. Then it is ONLY that breed that will be shown there? And if it says something like "san gabriel valley kennel club" then there will be all different types of breeds??? Also, the what does it mean when it says "closing" is that the last day you can register if you wanted to enter your dog??? I know these probably seem like really stupid questions but this is all so new to me... hehe.... |
