| Well. When we got Bentley we had just moved into our first apt 4 months before. We didn't really think anything about it and just had to have him once we visited him. We had him for 7 months, and then bought Zoey. We had them at the apt for a year and a half, and never got caught. They do inspections 2 times a year, and I would just put them in a bag and take them to classes with me (my teachers didn't mind), or take them to my parents, and sometimes I would just take them to the park when I knew they were coming. I was blessed, they don't bark alot! Other people had HUGE dogs, and some had cats. But when we moved out she said our apt was so clean, I'm a clean freak (for the most part) so that prolly helps. We used puppy pads to train, and at night they went outside. So now at the new place they do both still. But we're all legal now! It's possible. I guess I should say we're both in college, and it was a horrible mess finding a place that would allow pets. I'm thankful that we did find a place, more expensive, but worth it to have out kiddos. We didn't have to pay a pet deposit though, she worked with us and is just keeping a little of our deposit. So you still may look around to make sure you have a plan when your deposit is up. I know that we had to extend our lease 6 months at the other place because we couldn't find anything for so long.

| I was so worried that Teddi would be a barker because the girl next door had 2 yorkies that yipped all the time but FORTUNATELY she is over a year now and doesn't bark. I think it's because my standard poodle doesn't bark so she does the same. The other yorkies moved away but I was glad that she didn't learn how to bark from them.

| One thing no one else brought up... A good breeder will carefully screen the homes her puppies go to. If you rent, she'll probably ask for written permission from your landlord before letting you take the puppy home. She may even want to call your landlord herself to verify pets are allowed in your apartment. So this puppy may not work out anyway. To be honest, if the breeder hasn't asked any questions about where the puppy is going, I'd be a little leery of this breeder. |

| yeah it is a bad idea. yorkies are usually quiet dogs, but they will bark and they WILL be heard. i say yorkies are worth it, but not losing your apartment and your heart broken. can you get your deposit back or held until the breeder has a new litter and hopefully you'll have a new apartment that allows pets?

| Boobah's barking Hi, Boobah has discovered to bark also! When I first got her home she was quiet as a mouse. Wouldnt even make a sound. Then all blazes broke loose one day when she saw me get my keys. She is now 7 mos. old and smart as a whip. Runs like a rabbit, usually gets one of my bills when Im not looking and runs throughout the townhouse, sometimes she actually shreds them up, like telling me "dont pay this one". I have people living on both sides of me and as of yet no one has complained about her barking. Sometimes I get up early and she barks while Im in the shower or moving about. And these walls are thin! What helps me here is that there are about 3 other tenants who own dogs in this 20-unit complex.
