yes, a parti can be born from a parti x parti carrier cross (parti carrier looks like a traditional colored dog) the puppy displayed to the left under my name, is a parti carrier. Parti colored pups can also result from 2 parti carriers bred together (2 dogs that look like traditional colored yorkies)

Yes it would probably ruin them if the secret got out. they could claim to have taken care of the problem by getting the offending dog neutered, but are they also going to hunt down all of their descendents and spay/neuter them also.

I agree with you completely but hope with education and newer young blood coming in, maybe someday ... :-)

You need to reread the post then because a statement was made that she (the breeder in question) had produced other things (not mentioned) and gave the impression that it could be bad then later posted that it was all things that she had heard and did not know personally.:aimeeyork

You still don't get it. What I am saying is that anything can happen to any breeder it is what they do with it that makes the difference. Show breeders don't breed to fill a pet market. they breed to hopefully produce the best show dog, better than ever. Along the way, they will sell a pet puppy that is not a show dog. Along the way there can be mismarks or colour is wrong. These are not sold as rare for big bucks anymore than any of us would sell a tiny one for big bucks as a teacup Yorkie or a large one as a Standard Yorkie not so rare though.
When you alledged Durrer produced a parti colour which I understand you have accused other show breeders of doing the same you wondered if everyone with Durrer dogs will spay/neuter. that told me way more about what you don't know than what you do. And I will be talking to Betty Anne, it is not a good idea to throw accusations that you better be able to back up on a public forum such as this one.

No! Biewers come from mating two registered Biewers. if you mated a Biewer to a parti you would get the same result, but they could not be registered as Biewers.

As said before, problems occur with every breeder, if they tell you otherwise they are a liar. It is how the deal with the issue.

I know this don't have anything to do what you all are saying but do you believe, if the partis became it's own breed, that if they produce traditionals that they will also become that breed or back to a yorkie... because what if people start to claim that yorkies are carriers (if partis become their own breed)?..

good grief no, but some people who don't know the show world and aren't in it like to think so and say so that want to undermine the intentions, hard work and dedication of the reputable show breeder.
I always find it so amusing that these people that run down show breeders will give their eye teeth to get a hold of those lines and will not hesitate to mention that kennel name is in the pedigree of their puppy for sale that might have the kennel name back there somewhere, that they think should be sold for much higher prices although the show breeder doesnt think so and doesn't sell them for high prices themselves just regular pet prices for a pet if it is being sold for pet only. LOL

I have no idea where all the other parti colored yorkies came from, and I am sure that there are some that are not pure yorkies, but I do know where mine came from, and just because you don't personally know any show breeders that will admit to having produced an off colored pup does not mean that it has never happened.

As was stated before, those are secrets that are kept between show breeders. If I were your friend and I was aware of your biases, I would not tell you my secrets either.

And I know of no other show breeders that have produced off colored off spring, but I do know that one did come from the Durrer line.

No!! partis cannot be registered as Biewers because they would not have Biewer parents. In order to be registered as a Biewer the dog has to have come from two registered Biewers.
