| I'm so glad you're asking these questions!! I hope someone knows of a breeder in your area, but if you have to drive a little bit further to get a yorkie from a quality breeder, that would be better than giving money to puppymills. Good luck in your search! You might try looking in the yorkies for sale section, yorkie featured breeders section, or the YT nursery. Many quality breeders do ship also.

| I am willing to travel also but just not too far. I have been in touch with a few breeders from YT but the puppy is for my sister and she would rather meet the puppy before buying him/her. I really hope we find a local breeder because I would hate for her to end up in a petshop |

I live in Missouri (born and raised in New York though.. my family still lives in New York).... anyway, I breed yorkies and I went into the store to see the pups (who can resist checking out pups)... also to check out the prices... I looked at a male who was $1500... with a runny nose... The place was clean but the pups looked "not that lively". I was tempted to hand a couple that was coming in the store my business card as we were leaving... (didn't though). I currently don't ship, but I did have a couple drive down from Connecticut for a pup from one of my last litters. As others have stated, there are breeders with quality puppies outside of New York. Best of luck to you...

| I really hope someone is able to guide you to a reputable breeder in your area..I would hate for your sister to go and buy from a petstore. From what you said, it sounds like she wants to be able to see the conditions in which the pup is living and it's parents and siblings...At a petstore, the conditions are not so great, and she won't see the parents or littermates.
