yeah!!!! Who knows. I saw where someone posted a thread on here, they are coming out with a different micro chipp, suppose to be better, there website wasn't up and running when i looked at it. But if its anything like GPS I will pay however much it is to get it put in Aubrey and Dakota!!!!

My husband and I were just talking about that.... why they didn't have GPS chips like in cell phones!! Must be just around the corner. That would really put a damper on the dog thieves.

Yes, it would. They have GPS working good, so that website might be something like that. i hope so.

Wow! Great info everyone! Thanks! I was afraid it would really hurt them. Our vet charges $24.95 for the chip and $10 to put it in. So I guess I'll make an appt.

Keep up posted if you learn anything more about it. I can see it now.... all of our yorkies running around with about four chips in them just to be safe.

Cody was already microchipped when i got him. He has the Avid. So i have to call them and register my info with their system. i be on disability and all the high bills lately havent had the money yet. but hope to this month.

Great info!! Thanks! But do you think that saavy thieves will recognize these transmitters on the collars and just ditch them? If they can't be implanted, they at least need to be disguised on the collar somehow... to allow time to find them before the collar is ditched.

Yes, unless its something that you have to have a special collar from thats built into it. They would have to do somehting bc the dogs could scratch possibly bite it! In a few years it will be in the skin, I am sure.
