I've had laminate and tile. I like the laminate because it's easy to clean and comfortable to walk on barefoot. The tile is prettier, but it's a bit harder to clean and I don't like walking on it barefoot. Neither one has been a problem, dog-wise, since Demi chooses to have her accidents on the carpet. | |

However, hardwood holds up pretty well with dogs, we have it in every room except one and the dogs haven't done much damage. One of our rooms gets most of the traffic, so if we resell (or in a few years if we don't) we'll probably want to get it refinished. But that's not just from the dogs, that's the wear it gets from all of us.

				   | I have Hardwood and my MIL has Laminate the one thing I can say about hers is the dogs slip and slide on hers ALOT more then my hardwood, mine needs to be refinished again but that will wait we are the ones that put it in and it is a job I never want to do again! Either way both are alot better then Carpet! |

				   | We had hardwood floors and 5 new puppies, not a good combination. Where the puppies escaped from the tiled area to the hardwood area to go in private my other furbabies had to go an re-mark the spot. It was under the dining room table and we didnt spot it for a couple of days. My hubbie found the spot!!!! Not good. It had seeped down through the joints and had stained the boards. We had to rip up the floors as no amount of sanding would fix it!!!

The laminates can be refinished since they are somewhat wood but you might only be able to refinish those once.
