There is laminate that is for kitchens and baths. We looked into it a few years ago when thinking about redoing a bath. You have to make sure you get the right kind.

However, hardwood holds up pretty well with dogs, we have it in every room except one and the dogs haven't done much damage. One of our rooms gets most of the traffic, so if we resell (or in a few years if we don't) we'll probably want to get it refinished. But that's not just from the dogs, that's the wear it gets from all of us.
