| Help!!!!! Hi Well as you know i recently got my second baby last week, but im havin a mjor problem with my first, Larsson She is super jealous, and its not like im making a difference between the 2 but shes asting really bad, shes even turned on me and bite me on the leg, arm and hand, I dont mind her biting me, but shes ATTACKING jinky, really bad, to the extent where jinky is yelping an crying, jinky is about 1.5lbs and larsson is about 8lbs and she thinks that jinky is a play toy, i really cant take it anymore, the more she acts like this the more i really cant handle it, i thought it would be a great idea to get another dog so it would keep her company, NOT keep her occupied by attacking jinky, I really dont know what to do, my fiancee even suggested about giving larsson away, but i really dont want to do that, but if this continues im afraid i might have to please advise someone, please

| How long have you had your new pup? It might just take time for Larsson to get use to Jinky. I would give it a few weeks (if you can safely) before you decide to give one of them up... You should keep a close eye on them for now why would you give away the dog you had longer for your new one???

I wouldnt give her away but its her temper, i never imagined that she would act out as much as she is doing. she gots alot, alot if attention, right now, my fiance is playing with them both, trying to get them used to each other, we both have been doin this every night since we got jinky which is almost 2 weeks ago, but as soon as we stop playing or if we have something to do, she will attack jinky again

| Oh, I hate to see you rehome Larsson, as she was there first. I would imagine that would be very hurtful to her since she has been with you for awhile. I would keep them separated until they get more used to each other. When I had Lily, I kept her separate from Jake and only allowed them together when we could supervise them. Jake never tried to bite or hurt her, but he's not aggressive at all. He did get jealous, but the most he would do is get up on my lap while I was feeding Lily. We gave him lots and lots of extra attention, and he seemed like he was getting very used to her, and they seemed to really start liking each other. When you're spending time playing with the new baby, try to include Larsson a little bit at a time, and make sure you give her lots of praise and/or treats when she seems like he's trying to play nice with the new pup. I would give them time. When Larsson tries to bite or hurt Jinky, tell her NO very firmly, but don't yell at her or raise your voice. That just makes her more confused and might make her more aggressive.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Yorkies that have had you all to their self will do that but with attention and lots of reassurance they come first it passes. It sounds like you are more interested in the puppy that the dog you have had for awhile. Larsson may feel that.... I would think if one had to go it would be the new puppy not the one you have had and loved for along time. It doesn't make sense to get rid of a dog you have loved for along time for a new puppy as the puppy will grow up eventually.

| I have a suggestion, If you have a place where you can place a doggy door... when they are separated they can socialize through the doggie gate which should keep your new pup safe. Also, give them play time together but also keep giving Larsson his own attention independant of the attention you give Jinxie...I hope it all works out for you

Donating YT 30K Club Member | When I got Pixie in January she was 13 months old and 3 lbs and she was use to being in with other bigger dogs, so when she joined us Cali qas 1 1/2 and 5 lbs and Pixie kept picking on her , biting, pullin her leg and Cali would jsut take it. I made sure no one was getting hurt and they worked it out. A few times I pulled Cali away as I thought Pixie was too rough and Cali went right back to Pixie to "play". I would supervise closely and do as you are playing with them and make sure Larsson gets extra attention and everything first. First to be fed, first to be greeted, first to get a treat. I think it will work out in time, It really took Cali 2 months to accept Pixie, she would just goto the other room away from her. Now they snuggle together all the time. Good luck

| No. DOn't give your baby away. You have to spend time with your first one. I went through this with Aubrey. I take time each day to play and walk him, without the new puppy being around! |
