| Some People X 2 I read the thread about "some people" and the rudeness, and I had one yesterday also. I was walking Jeanie, and this guy says "what kind of dog is she" and I said "yorkie" and he says.....oh well she's not silver, but she's cute anyway My baby is a cotton coat, and very dark.....probably won't gray out at all. But I thought the rule of silvering is only for showing? It's not a sign of a pure yorkie is it? The papers I have say her parents are all yorkie all the way back in the blood lines.....and she is yorkie in every way to me. The other thing is her ears droop - which we are working on now....but even if they don't stand, again, that is not a "purebread sign" is it? Isn't it just important for showing??? I get tired of the ignorance of others that are snobbish of the "perfect yorkie". Mine might not be perfect for showing, but she sure is perfect for me My cutie little baby.....I'm glad she is a bit different. Makes her special......what do you all think? |

| My Otis is black, cottony coated, long legged, flop earred, and weighs 9 pounds. He's full blooded. Some people don't know enough about yorkies to realize they come in all shapes and sizes, just like people.!!!! Your baby is perfect!!

| One thing I read about the breed is that is nice that they all turn out different.......and that's what is special about the breed. Like Labs, you pretty much know what they will look like for sure. But not so with our special Yorkies I just love them all Whenever I see one, no matter what size, colour, ear style, I run up to them (ask first of course) and pet them......because I love them all so much. |

| WHY do people who don't know jack about something have to be the most vocal "experts"? Your baby is beautiful! Anyone who thinks she's less of Yorkie because of her coloring or ears or whatever, has a screw loose

| She is beautiful! I wouldn't worry about what others say and just chalke it up to them being uneducated about the breed.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | She's cute as can be in your avatar and don't listen to all the KNOW IT ALLS out there - most people who make those rude comments are the same people that think a small yorkie is a Teacup. (no such thing !!) Real dog lovers would never judge someones pet like that and you're right SHE IS SPECIAL Personally - I love the dark colors and no - I really don't think floppy ears are a sign she isn't purebred - but - have you trimmed them down ? That helps if you're trying to get them to stand. Edited to say - Just saw your picture - SHE IS Beautiful !! Lord that guy was nuts - All some have to do is open their mouths to prove who's the fool

I actually just finally found a groomer that knows how to groom yorkies properly, and she shaved the ears back, and taped them for me. So she thinks they will still stand. She says it's too bad I never found a groomer that knew what to do till now because her ears should stand no problem......but I guess if they don't now, that's ok too. She's cute either way right | |

| This one guy came up to us while we were walking and asked what kind of dog Kiwi is. When I told him, he wanted to know if I got a discount because she is so big (she is 5 months and weighs 6 lbs)! I just laughed and walked away...some people don't deserve our time! So, I know what you mean, and just because some yorkies are bigger or darker or have floppy ears, doesn't mean they aren't perfect!

| Oh I hear "is she a teacup" or "she isn't a teacup is she" (funny that I hear both for the SAME dog)... But anyway, I set people straight that there is no such thing as a teacup! |
