| What's in a name? I LOVE all of the fun names that your furbabies have and I thought it might be fun to tell why your baby has the name it does? Is there a special meaning...did you name your baby before you met him/ her? Tell us here. I'll start: 1. Valentino- I wanted an Italian name (I am italian) and when we first talked to the breeder she told us Tino was "a dog of substance" aka chubby..and that he always wanted to be snuggled. So I found Valentino meant "Strong lover"...and it was perfect for him! 2. Lolita- I wanted a name to go with our "love" theme and once we met Lola we knew she'd be a heartbreaker...she was so tiny but had such a beautiful face. And as you know...whatever Lola wants...Lola gets!

| Susanah's full name is Scarlet Susanah Belle. Scarlet - because I wanted something Southern. Belle is in tribute to my beloved Annie-Belle who passed away in March. I'm not really sure how Susanah got in the mix. It just fit and it suits her perfectly. My Annie-Belle's full name was Agnes Anastasia Belle. Agnes (after Agnes Scott College) Anastasia because I wanted a yorkie since I was 4 and had always planned on naming her Anastasia. Belle because it means "beauty".

| Wizzar - he was rescued, and he came flying at us when we went to collect him. Pixie- because the first picture from the breeder of the litter she was smiling cheekily at the camera and when we met her she was the most boisterous and imp like!! Sparkey - I lived with a family while at the academy and they had a yorkie called sparkey who i took care of for a year and a half.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali short for California Dreaming because my family would love to live in California one day. Pixie was named by the breeder and was 13 months old when I got her and she fits her name.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wylie - (my 3 yr. old) - me and my husband's favorite poet is Elinor Wylie, we quoted her alot when we were first dating. Since my pets always have 3 names, it turned into Wylie "The Floop" Fitzsmudge (Floop is his nickname, Fitzsmudge we made up). Marcel's first name is after Marcel Proust; Verdel is in honor of the dog Verdel from "As Good As It Gets". So, of course, we had to rhyme and it turned into Marcel Verdel Purcell!

| Hokule'a means 'bright star' - Since I'm from Hawaii I wanted a Hawaiian name and she had a star-shaped white patch on her chest when she was born. Kalani - Since Hokule'a has a serious heart murmur the breeder gave me Kalani as a replacement pup and I wanted his name to relate to hers - Kalani means 'sky/heaven'.

| Bismarck - My husband named him because his Dad had an imaginary dog named Bismarck. He would entertain the grandkids with the "dog" which had a see thru dog house which he built. DC - I named her because my husband and I met in Washington, DC. When she was a young puppy, it fit for "devil child" because she was so fiesty. haha They both are very special to us. |

| Well, I'm a big baseball fan and love the Cleveland Indians. Our baseball stadium is called "Jacobs Field" and everyone calls it "the Jake". That's where I got Jake's name. I named him before I got him. I honestly don't know where I came up with Lily's name. I saw her picture and the name "Lily" popped into my head and it stuck. So, we named her "LilyAnn". I still have to come up with a name for my new little guy.

| Mighty Mouse Although she's gone to doggie heaven my little Mouse got her name because she was so shy and when I met her she ran under the bench I was sitting on and then ran along the base board. She was also very small - just barely 2lbs. (She never got any bigger than 4.5lbs) I laughed and said, "She's so tiny, like a Mouse!" Later when I got home she continued to run from room to room along the baseboards. Part of the reason was, at the time, I had a big female doberman. Mouse was smart and didn't want to get stepped on by her rather ungraceful big sis. Mighty got added soon after when one day she was sitting on the bed with me. Something got her attention and instead of using the puppy stairs I had beside the bed, she just took a flying leap, flew into the air will all fours stretched out and jumped to the floor. My heart skipped a beat but she didn't hurt herself and went tearing out of the room along with her big sis. After that she never did take the stairs going down! Mouse's Mommy |
