| ![]() We went round and round on naming both of our furgirls. We came up with Emma in the car on the way home from picking her up. I wanted to name her something with "Emerald" in it, because I was born in May, and that's my birthstone. We thought about "Lily" because the flower for May is the Lily of the Valley, but my husband thought that was cheesy. We also wanted something that sounded royal because we knew this little dog was going to be spoiled, so we came up with "Suzy's Emerald Princess", or Emma! We then decided to get our second yorkie, and liked a few different names-Dori, Milli, Hannah, Pearl...but wanted it to fit with the theme. We decided Hannah was a good person name, but not the best for a dog, and it sounded too much like Emma. So, we started narrowing it down from there, by trying to think of what her AKC name would be. After we saw her, we decided to name her "Suzy's Million Dollar Sapphire" (Milli) since it went with Emma's name well, and Sapphire is my husband's and my mom's birthstone. Sometimes I think we should have named her Suzy's Million Dollar HEADACHE ![]()

| ![]() Well, I know mine will sound a little out there... But, I decided to name her "Meka" (mee-ka) after my husband and I's favorite porn star! We call her "Me Me" for short and I added on Brown - cause it started to remind me of an old 70's movie (i.e. Cleopatra Jones or Foxy Brown)... She's definately spunky and full of spice, with lots of love and divatude. Which is why one of her nicknames is MEKA THE DIVA. Its a name that demands attention! ![]()

| ![]() This is such a fun thread ! Penelope .... was the name I had picked out for my very first Yorkie many years ago when I was young and it took me all my life to find her. Tobias .....was named by his breeders children. We originally thought we were going to call him Henry, but when we got him home he was such a Tobias! Roxy ... because she is such a Roxy. I picture the name Roxy as spunky, fun and intrepid and Roxy is all of that... and so much more. Tulsa.... she came to us from the city of Tulsa and it just suited her so well. Miss Lily.... Lily is sweet, loving and kind and this name just suited her to a T. |
