| I'm So Frustrated -- Pictures I'm soooo frustrated!! I've been trying to get some good pictures of my 3 little terrors for a while now with no success. I want to have note cards and labels done by V, as well as a painting by another YT member. But I haven't been able to get this all done because I don't have any great pictures of them!!! Grrrr!!! I'M BEYOND FRUSTRATED!!! I took them to the groomer on Saturday for the works and they look awesome right now. So I figured, hey why don't I get some pictures since they're looking so fluffy and adorable? Right? Wrong! They would not cooperate with me!! Let's start with Tia, my dainty little princess. She was looking extra fluffy and beautiful, so I started my photo shoot with her. First I took some NEKKED shots, then I put on a few different little tops and dresses. She stood there frozen in front of the camera, all hunched over ... looking like some deranged cross between constipated and frightened!! We're not even going to get into the constant BLINKING ... aaaaahhhhh!!!!! Then I worked with my sexy supermodel, Codie. He wouldn't stay still. He kept moving his head up and down and would lick his privates at the most inopportune moments!! If he wasn't constantly moving his head every single time I was about to take a shot, he was sniffing his butt!! Aaaahhhhhh!!!! And last but definitely not least came my little pixie-sized Cali. She would pose oh so cute and then right before I snapped the picture, she'd move!! Aaaaahhhh!! I wanted to strangle someone!!! I have some adorable dresses by Jodie (LuvMySissy) that I wanted her to model for me but noooooooo, she had to sit down or hide her face!! I couldn't get her to give me 1 decent post to save my life! For all of you who take AMAZING photos of your little darling, PLEASE tell me what's your secret!! I'm at a loss here!! I really need some good photos ... just a few to choose from ... so that I can have some labels, notecards and a painting made. PLEASE HELP!!! What am I doing wrong? Am I someohow spooking them or making them camera shy?

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Welcome to my world. Lulu seems to have ADD when I try to take her picture. It kills me because she rather look right up in my face than sit still. I asked one of the other members who always seem to get beautiful pictures if they use some sort of super glue. Good luck...I feel your pain.

| I've tried making funny sounds to get them to look at the camera. I've tried trreats, a talking piggy and I've even enlisted Jim's help. They just won't cooperate for me!! Grrrr!!

| You could try doing what I do with my cats to get some really great shots. Use a toy! (or treat) Make the pup stay, then hold the toy up above the camera a bit so that the pup seems to be making eye contact with the camera. It also helps if your camera has a feature where you hold down the button and it continuously takes shots. You're bound to get at least one good one!

| I think you have to try when they are not quite so full of energy. Maybe after a really good play session when they are worn out, but before nap time....If I put Phoebe on a chair and tell her to stay she wil. Carson is super wiggly, so he's the hard one to catch on camera and have him look good. Well, he's in his awkward puppy stage too. He's so cute in person, but when I look at photos I've shot, they don't capture his cuteness at all! deb |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | LOL Poor Jen !! I whisper to my girls - they'll look intently and directly at me to try to figure out what I'm saying - if you go here - you can see what kind of shots I get by doing that - http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89575 I got these by whispering "Do you girls like to go Bye Bye ?" hehe - it really works - then I do take them for a little ride around the block - and you do know I can do your Cards off seperate photos right ? if you get pics of them alone - I can make them LOOK together - oh - another thing is try to take pictures outside with NO flash - they seem to know when to close their eyes for the flash

| I've been taking picture since I first got Eury so I think she is actually getting used to the camera LOL. Even then there are days when she will not cooperate. I have found though that if I take the pictures when she is more relaxed like a little before she wants to take a nap or after she's finished a meal, she's more willing to sit still. Hope that helps.

| Oh, but you can get some of the BEST pictures during playtime! Just keep that camera handy. I'm enclosing examples. Sorry that they're cats instead of yorkies... my yorkie is still in his mum's tummy at the moment.

| I think they get easier as they get older also. I could never get a good picture of mine together when they were puppies. Now that they are a little older they seem to have more patience with the camara. Treats really do help to get their attention also. I recently won a pet photo contest at work but had to sit and hold all 4 of mine in order to get them to all look at the camara. Hubby took the picture for me. My biggest problem is the glow that shows up in their eyes from the flash. Anyone know how to get rid of that. Here's the picture that won. I didn't even think it was that good. I think they just picked my picture because I had the most pets but I did get a nice treat jar and an ice cream maker for my picture. LOL |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | I do the same as V, I say certain key words she LOVES like, Bye bye, outside, Ada, Zoey, and treat are my "key" words all of those words end in a Full attention head tilt and make for a great photo.

| I always play with mine for a little while making sure they don't get too hot and have their tongue sticking out all the time...lol My son usually stands behind me with a toy at about shoulder level but out a little ways so that they are not looking directly at the camera. I still have to take loads of pictures, but usually get some pretty good ones in the mess.
