| Too much protein? I've heard a lot of people say that too much protein isn't good for the dogs and shouldn't exceed a certain percentage (ie, 28% or there about). My question is, what is the harm of too much protein? I'm probably going to try home cooking, but that question keeps popping up and I'm trying to educate myself. TIA

| I think what's important is the quality of protein. High quality proteins are good for them. Just stay away from foods that have by-products. But I'm just seeing that you said you are homecooking, so I'm pretty positive you won't be using by-products Are you using any books or anything as a guide to help you get started with homecooking?

I was wondering if you can homecook and just add missinglink?? Can you home cook just 1-2 meals a day and still leave kibble out for snacks or 3/4th meals?? With Diggy's hypo tendancies I am afraid of taking kibble away. Good thread!

I brush her teeth every day and she seems to semi-enjoy that, but she's still young. She had her first grooming on Saturday and her coat is a little dry. I think good nutrition can only help everything. I'd love some suggestions.

| Oh and she's 18 weeks and 56 ozs. (3 1/2 lbs) so she's a good healthy size and not picky other than she dislikes (HATES!!) kibble. I also leave out kibble for her to nibble on, but the cat usually eats it.
