Jackson was 6 pounds at 12 weeks, I'm anxious to see how much he weighs now at 15 weeks. |
My neighbor has a Yorkie that is 16 lbs and she looks like she is all yorkie like yours does!! Wookie:aimeeyork is currently 8 lbs and the vet says between 7-8 is good for his size frame. He was up to 10 lbs (after spending Christmas at grandmas who's motto is "He is at grandmas, he can eat whatever he wants!") but that was a little too much for his body. (Not good for the luxating patella). But from what I understand it varies from yorkie to yorkie!! You just got more to love than others!! More to cuddle!! Lucky you!:animal-pa |
He is fine. My girl Destiny is 14 lbs and she is 100% yorkie. |
My male was 14 lbs. His name was Chip and we always said he should have been called Chunk. Piper is a petite little 5lbs. |
My baby girl is 4lb 9 at 7months but if she got to be 100lbs Ill still love her lol:animal-pa |
Callie my baby is 13 pounds and I love that she is bigger she is more sturdy and jumps off and on my bed and the furniture without problems and without me worrying she will hurt herself but she still seems soooo tiny to me! She is the perfect size for me :D |

20lb Yorkie We have a 3 year old that is currently at 20lbs and on an overweight diet. His ears only stand up when sleeping at the correct angle. The vet said he should not have exceeded 8 lbs but he went by that the first year. He has been in the 18-20 lb range for the last two years and is very healthy and active. |
I admit the small ones are cute but it is very nice having a bigger one because you don't have to worry as much about them getting hurt and even the bigger ones are adorable!![/quote]:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: My Sophie is 8 lbs and growing! |
He looks cute and adorable. He is a Yorkie. Many Yorkies do not meet the standard for Yorkshire Terriers to a tee including my Yorkie. Some people just focus on the weight part of the standard and have a narrow view on what makes a dog a Yorkie. We just have to explain to people who do not understand. :D |
Yorkie! Well, the standard is not to exceed 7 pounds. But that doesn't mean a Yorkie can't be more than 7 pounds (many of them are over that, some well over). The standard also talks about coat color (not all of them fit that standard exactly either). So, the standard is the description of the "perfect example of the breed." But, rare is the Yorkie that is a perfect. I think he's ADORABLE! And, obviously a pure Yorkie. |
Just weighed Sully last night ... he's 7 months and 11 pounds and I'm still working on how to ignore the snobs that tell me he's "not real".... I say...."Really? He's not real? I certainly thought he was real.... He's eats and poops like he was real.";) |
