Too big I got my Harry because he weighs too much for the previous owner......5lbs. Some people I think want the itty bitties, that are so very cute, and over 5 lbs is not a yorkie. I dont care how much Harry weighs....even 120lbs, I will love him forever, and yes, he is a REAL yorkie:aimeeyork |

I have two Yorkies. Pixie weighs 11 pounds and Rowdy weighs 4.5. I agree with what everyone else is telling you, he's all Yorkie and they, like us, come in different sizes. I worry about Rowdy because he is small. His legs are so tiny. Pixie is older and bigger. She is a rescue and has just gained weight since she came to my house. I know you love your baby no matter what size and that's what matters. |
awww how cute!!. My little Shorkie is 5 months and 3 pounds 9 ounces although she changes between 3 pounds 3 ounces to 3'9. I want her to get about 7 pounds or more. Little, little ones just scare me. lol |
Hi, I have two yorkies, one is 14 lbs and the other is just under 6 lbs. My 14lb is 2 yrs old and when I got him at 8 mths he weight just under 12 lbs. I actually just started cutting back a bit on his food. I was recently visiting in Myrtle Beach and while walking the dogs a lady stopped me and told me she had a big yorkie like 17 lbs. So they are out there that is for sure. |
Prince is 5.7 lbs., and yes, we have to be so careful with him, although he does not realize his size...he thinks he's a big guy. (His mom is 4.7, his dad 7.2) It seems as though larger dogs handle vacs and meds a little better. Enjoy and love your baby...he's really cute! |
My Jake is 20lbs. He is not fat just large. He has to be a teapot yorkie lol. I often have wondered if he was all yorkie one day I'm going to have him tested to see. No matter what it won't make a difference I love him just the same. Did you get him from a pet store or a breeder? |
Bought mine at the Pet Store in JVM who obtained from a breeder in NC. |
Fiona is about 10.5 lbs, and she has always been a bigger yorkie. I think your baby is adorable!!!!!:) |
Great disposition, good with people, as well as other pets. Thinks he is a tough guy chasing after deer and squirrles on the deck. Barks only when he sees other pets out the window and can't get to them. |
i bought a yorkie too. i got ot see the parents and the mom was 4 pounds and the dad was 3 poundls, to tell you the truth i really really wanted a tiny yorkie. i bought mines for $650. althought his parents were small, he ended being about 10 pounds!!! i was kind of sad at the beginning because he wouldnt stop growing but now i LOOOVVVEEEEEE him! he is my little baby! oh by the way i'm new here an di just want to say this site is AWESOME!! :) |
Bob is 23 pounds. |
My yorkie is also a healthy 15 pounds and i have several friends who have yorkies that are this size as well. |
