Good luck! I know what you're going through. We had the HARDEST time finding a place that allows small dogs & when we finally found one, it was SO nasty that I would never let my angel in that place. Then the only other one we found (after about 4 months of SEARCHING) was out of our budget, but we had to take it so it's been really hard on us.

Take Buster with you to the appointment Make sure their kid is there so they can see how much she likes to play with him & how good he is.

I rented for 8 years in a place that did not allow dogs but they let you have a cat if you paid an extra $50 per cat a month. They said that cat's use a litter box and dog's will mess on the floor. Maybe you could see if they would be willing to let you pay a pet fee. I hope all goes well for you!!

Maybe you should get a letter of recommendation from the old owners on how good a tenant you are with the dog and that given his size etc that you had no problem with him being there....Too bad you weren't able to get the old owners to do a lease for you prior to their selling the place to allow you to keep your pet ...but I am praying for a good result from the meeting and you may also want to let them know you paid a lot for your pet and had you known this you would not have gotten him !! I feel it will all work out!!! keep us posted!!!

My small building that I lived in for 10 years was sold, in process of being renovated with the plan to sell outright as condos. The time was extremely stressful for me, but I made a decision to find another place that Sophie and I would be happy. After many anxious drives, looking at apartments/condos, my new place appeared and I moved forward with ease.

Think about this as a new adventure in your life that includes Buster. I for one lived without a doggie for three years and was not happy.

Think about it as a positive. I do know the rent, buildings in Manhattan, surrounding areas but there are other places to live with Buster.

I'm not positive but if you can get the old landlord to say you've had the dog 3 months there might be away around it......(I'm not sure this holds true for new owners) but it's definitely worth a shot
