| Does this sound fishy? I found a lady getting rid of her yorkies. Supposely because her son is moving home and he is allergic to them. She has 7 yorkies ranging from 1-3 yrs old. She is selling them for a decent price. She says they are akc registered and she has papers on them. should i mess with this lady or should i stay clear? |

| Hard to tell. I'd start asking questions like did she breed them? Any health problems? Will she give you permission to speak to her Vet? Can you visit her home and see if she has a kennel (as in byb) type set up? She may have just had a couple dogs and they may have had a litter and she kept them all. Best wishes and let us know what you find out.

| she has only breed one of them. She says that this is her only yorkies. I figured she was just selling them because they didn't take on her breeding program or something. She is selling them for 450-1500. I love yorkies so i would take them anyways i just wanted other opinions on the situation. she says they are in good health and they have never been caged. I think before i got rid of my babies i would rent my son a apartment. lol. Only two of the dogs are related Last edited by junebug0018; 07-19-2007 at 07:37 AM. |

| you know it kinda does sound like she may have tried to start a breeding program that didn't work out. jmho but having 7 dogs, 3years old and younger is a lot of dogs in a fairly short amount of time. and then to give them all up so easily sounds kind of odd. doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them or that they wouldn't be wonderful pets though.

YT 2000 Club Member | I thought Yorkies were non shedding dog's? I have allergies to shedding dogs and cats, hamsters, rabbits, and the list goes on. When I was growing up my mom only got us dogs that did not shed and they never made my allergies act up. I have a friend that has 2 Labs and I just walk in her home and my eyes water and get itchy. My mother has 2 Yorkies and I am fine in her home. I even baby sit her girls at times and they never bother my allergies.I do not see how her son could be allergic to then if that is the case. |

| I regards to the allergies... Aren't allergies also do to the dandur of the animal, not just hair? My daughter has seasonal allergies, but we've been extra careful with keeping her on her meds with adding Brody to our house. We're not quite sure how her allergies will react. They did flare up when we first got the cats. So we figure better safe than sorry.

| vet Why don't you ask to speak to her vet to see how they have been maintained health-wise? |
