I thought Yorkies were non shedding dog's?

I have allergies to shedding dogs and cats, hamsters, rabbits, and the list goes on. When I was growing up my mom only got us dogs that did not shed and they never made my allergies act up. I have a friend that has 2 Labs and I just walk in her home and my eyes water and get itchy. My mother has 2 Yorkies and I am fine in her home. I even baby sit her girls at times and they never bother my allergies.I do not see how her son could be allergic to then if that is the case.
