Do y'all think this stuff will only get worse now that Paris Hilton has a yorkie? Do you think her popularity will only raise the popularity of yorkies and make thefts increase? I know that's a morbid thought but I put nothing past anybody.

this is awful..you hear more and more of this happenning

i had forgotten until i read this post that we had a "family" across the street that kinda of did this. the daughter would take dogs out of people back yards and claim she found them and would tried to turn them in the the shelter we worked for, then we found out what she was doing and let the authorities know. they would also call the animal control on people on the neighborhood after that, stating that the dogs were barking and they tried to the get the people in trouble that had turned them in. They are a weird family, the father left to become a woman which i know is more and more common but whew!! thats the uglies woman i have ever seen...lol

P.s. i truly hope im not offending anyone with that last comment im not meaning to

im sorry but comments like this is what I really dont get. Dont get me wrong I think it totally weird and disturbing that the lady tried to steal the puppy. But its not a child. If a person were to steal a puppy it would be for themselves or for profit. Someone taking a child cannot be compared. With all the rapists child molesters out there comparing the 2 is more disturbing then the lasy try to steal the pup in the first place.

I think all yorkie owners are paranoid with all these thefts of yorkies... man its just tooo saddddd!

No a dog is not a child, but my dog is like a child to me. I treat her like she is my daughter and think of her that way. I hate people that steal dogs because a dog is not something you can just replace like a TV or a car. A dog is a member of your family, your friend, your baby, has its own personality...you LOVE that dog. For someone to steal a dog, it's like taking someone's child from them.

lol it was actually Britney spear but who cares they are both stupid. Anyway you can probobly bet that there will be a little yorkie craze to come. Which reminds me look at all the buzz about paris hiltons dog when she first revealed it. Everyone and there grandma got a new purse with a dog to match

Did the police at least file an incident report?? You really need to make them put that on the record in case that lady comes back or you see her in the area and can get her tag" and then add that to your incident report. I think if you make a big enough fuss about it they will give you a incident report ##..also given what is going on with Zeke in our other thread I would post flyers in your area re this incident to alert other dog owners..try to nip it in the bud now!!! So glad that they did not get this baby!! People are just nuts now a days!!!

Wow! where in Michigan? I live in Michigan! I always have my little one on a harness an Leash when I take them out. They are never alone outside, but you never know how bold anyone could be. Shoot they could hit you in the head and take them. People don't care anymore.

Brenda & Max & Bobo & Libby will keep a lookout all the time now. Guess I will have to get me a Cujo to keep my babies safe!
