No a dog is not a child, but my dog is like a child to me. I treat her like she is my daughter and think of her that way. I hate people that steal dogs because a dog is not something you can just replace like a TV or a car. A dog is a member of your family, your friend, your baby, has its own personality...you LOVE that dog. For someone to steal a dog, it's like taking someone's child from them.
