| collar/harness/tags My Yorkie is 13 weeks old now, and just received his rabies vaccine and was given a tag to wear. As of right now he hasn't been wearing a collar...just a harness when we used the leash. I am going to search the internet today to order him an identification tag. Does anyone have any place they'd recommend? My main question to everyone is how does your Yorkie wear these tags? Do you have a collar with these attached, then place the harness on as well if using a leash? Do you attached them to the harness? Do you leave a collar or harness on at all times? Thanks...my husband and I can't agree on what to do! |

| I got my ID tag at Petsmart in that little machine where they make them, and I just have it attached to her harness, I haven't gotten her rabies shot or tag yet or registered her with the county so she only has one id tag right now. I figure when she gets a little bigger I'll get her a collar to wear all the time with the tags on them. |

| HI! welcome to YT and owning a Yorkie! I have Turbo's tags all on one collar. He is an inside dog only, so he never really wears the collar (his fur will mat). When we go places that he will need the collar and tags, we put it on him in addition to his harness. As for ID tags...I ordered one through petsmart.com but, I have seen some neat websites linked here for ones that slip over the collar (flush with it). I just don't know the site offhand. Good luck with making the hubby see your way! haha. JK JK. He needs to be happy with the decisions regarding the pup too!

| I didn't even notice the machine at PetSmart...do you remember how much it cost? I assume you got it right then? What a great and easy way! |

| We had collars with their tags on them for a long time and then they wore a harness too. But there are so many tags on it now (ID tag with our phone #, rabies tag, city license, avid chip tag) it is getting bulky and heavy for our babies and they are big 12-13 lbs. It is probably worse for the little tiny Yorkie babies. I asked our city if they would consider getting smaller, lighter tags for small dogs, but I don't know if they will do it. I decided to do away with the collars when we are walking so there isn't so much stuff on them. I recently put the tags on the chest-area ring on the harness. I got one of those clip-on thingys so I can easily take it off and move it to a collar or other place. I just make sure that the tags are on the outside of the harness when we walk, and not between the harness and the dog where it would probably be uncomfortable. Welcome to YT!

| I think her tag was only at the most 5 dollars and the machine engraves it right there front and back if you want. Also the guy at Petsmart said that some people will put their information on one side and on the other list NEEDS MEDS incase your puppy ever goes missing if someone picks them up chances are if they see the dog needs medical attention they'll take it to a vet or shelter before keeping it. |

| I originally ordered my tags from a site online, but then I needed to replace them so I just went to PetSmart and got the small round ones. Kona and Bernie each wear a collar with their identification tags.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I LOVE Boomerang tags - super durable and such quality. I get the "collar tag" bc Marcel is so small, I don't want it to dangle. It's the version that you slide on/off. http://www.boomerangtags.com/store/list.php?A=S&ID=24 He wears collar at all times (bc he must wear a bell) EXCEPT when he's alone. For leashing, harness only (w/ tags as well) - but he still wears his collar at the same time. These collars and harnesses are to die for: https://shop.cloescollars.com/catego...t.hg?welcome=1

| I know this may sound bad or not responsable but I dont keep anything on my yorkie. No collar no tag. I live in a condo and the only time he is out is when I take him for walks or if he visits his best bud oscar (my moms maltese) and they run in a huge enclosed yard. Just never liked the idea of him having a collar on his neck all the time. I think hes happier this way |

| I got Cody a tag from petsmart. A Florida Gator the tag was 8.50 and then used the machine to engrave his name, my phone number , city and state on back. i put it on a collar. and his rabies tag is on his harness i havent moved them over to the collar. he uses a harness to walk on leash. i dont let him wear his collar with his tag unless were away from home. because he is a puppy and chews on it. his rabies tag is all messed up already from chew marks. |

I also ordered a custom harness from Cloe's Collars last week. It just arrived and is perfect! The quality is amazing and the customer service was great too. | |
