| ![]() Sugar just got a Home Again chip today. Her vet said that there isn't a universal scanner but each scanner will show that there is a chip in the dog. If the chip doesn't match the scanner it won't show any personal info, but it will show that there is a chip. Then you can find a vet/rescue with a scanner that matches the chip and they can scan it to get the info.

| ![]() All four of my furbabies have HomeAgain. It's what Army bases use and they require pets to be microchipped. ![]()

| ![]() ![]() When we first purchased Avery-she still needed to remain at the breeders for a couple more weeks-but she told us that she would be microchipped when we picked her up..but was told by her vet all the pups were too small still and needed to wait about another month. She then took her lil one about a month later and told us the vet said they were still too little. (that same week we took avery to our vet & just asked him about it while we were there.. he told us he could do it, but because she was so little still it would be too painful and to wait a lil bit. ..This was a little over a month ago and she was about 1.6lbs.. now she is almost 3lbs. Is this ok to have it done now??-i have heard some people say they need to be put under-i do not want that though. Also- is it normal to gain that much weight so quickly?? (she's not overweight at all-so just wonderring?) I know this isnt the only factor for Avery's full grown size but, Her mom was 2.5lbs and the dad was 3 lbs. (obviously she did not plan on breeding her tiny lil girl-accident!!.. but all 3 pups survived!!) Just curious.. ![]()

They do not need to be put under. It's simply an injection similiar to getting their shot only the needle is a little bit bigger. Eury yelped a tiny bit but then she yelps every time she gets a shot. She was totally fine after a few seconds. As far as weight gain, it sounds like a growth spurt to me. Eury is pretty steady in her growth, about 200 grams every couple weeks, but every so often it jumps to 500 grams or more.
