I am praying and praying for you & Zeke to be reunited! I have been too swamped at work lately to have followed up closely on this and I feel sooo heartbroken for you! I just know Zeke will find his way to his mommy!

Daisy Mae, I think you should email her back and ask for a picture of the dog standing up so you can see his ears standing.

I think Proud Momma needs to go and interview all of the door greeters and the shopping cart retrievers and see if they saw anything. Maybe a nice little letter to the editor of the newspaper about how friendly and helpful your local Walmart manager, the local police, and whoever else has not helped you should be in order. Write a letter, tell your whole story that you told us about your illness and let them know that you have had absolutely no help from any of these people to try to find your dogs.

I'm the same way with Sukoshi now. After all the horrible things I've read on here lately, I'm being even more careful than normal! My husband was outside the other day (with Sukoshi IN the house with me and no where in sight), and a random man going down the street asked my husband, "So how's that little dog of yours doing?" I am freaked out that people are keeping tabs on us and recall from memory that we have a little dog when she is not even outside. Since then, we've turned our A/C on so we can keep all our doors and windows locked at all times, I changed our cleaning service to Fridays when I can be home while they're there (we used to just leave a key under our mat for them to come during the week while we were working - which left them alone in the house with Sukoshi, and I trust them, but I don't trust others that could be paying attention to the fact that we put our key out the morning they're coming and pick it up when we return from work), and we're looking into getting an alarm system. This is all just too scary!

I am still praying we have some good news here soon! Little Zeke must be so scared!

I'm disappointed...obviously the Walmart manager is not a pet owner...
You all have excellent suggestions, the flyers on the cars at that Walmart asking "HAVE YOU SEEN THIS DOG?" is a great idea, questioning employees, such as the greeters, cart retrievers and such is also a great idea.
The letter from the attorney...yes, yes, yes...do it now, please!!!
Daisey Mae needs help replying to that email...she's too far away...proud mommy needs some back-up, she can't do this alone...anyone nearby?
Write a letter to the editor of the local papers...place ads on local TV stations...radio stations, somebody knows something...How big is this town, Tracy? I'd be knocking on doors, all of them, scouring every neighborhood...we can't leave any stones unturned...we have to find Zeke!!!

That's a good idea about the cleaning, ppl can find out you hide the key there so it's better if you're home when they clean. That is crazy that you have ppl asking you about Sukoshi. Ppl in my building ask me all the time but there are many dogs in my building and we all know one another so it's okay. I too have been very careful with Teddy and London, I hold on to them tight when I'm outside cause I feel like anyone can just grab them and run away if they wanted to, there are crazy ppl here.

I agree with Kathy, that communication between the Walmart manager and a lawyer - Galatea - would provide the quickest results. However, I would not wait the amount of days a Legal Letter would take to get a response. I think time now, is of the essence, because too many days have already passed since Zeke was taken. Galatea - would you be willing to call this Manager. I feel he would find a real "voice", albeit one over the phone, more intimidating, so as to elicit an immediate response from him. If he hears there is a Legal representative of the lady he refused to help yesterday, he might be prompted to do the right thing.

I have another thought that might provide some hope. Think of this scenario:
If indeed Zeke was "purchased" by someone outside of Walmart the other day, it is very possible the new "owner" would take him to a Vet to be checked. That is the normal thing any new pet owner does. Maureen had Zeke microchipped. There is an overwhelming percentage of vets today that have this scanning facility. Maureen has sent out mass mailings to many vets in her area. These were not thrown away. I know because I have phoned a few of them myself, and they have Zeke's information. If a Vet is presented with a "new" Yorkie owner, wouldn't you think he would scan the dog? I called my own vet to ask his opinion on this and he agrees with me.

this just infuriates me!!!!!1 some people are just soooo horrible. i know you have had many suggestions, but honestly i would lie. i would put fliers everywhere saying that this year has been very hard for you bc one of your children passed away and that this dog has been your support system and reason for living. i would offer a serious reward!!!! i mean thousands of dollars!! whoever has your baby, will hopefully not want him more than the idea of that much money, or if they r trying to sell him hopefully that amount would be more. make sure you say on the flyer, no questions asked!!!!!!

my second idea would be to have a completly different person/name put an ad in those womans local newspaper, maybe flyers too saying that a yorkie is wanted for a graduation present, and its very last minute so it is wanted fast, say that you will pay some crazy amount, like"yorkie wanted for 2,500 or less, last minute, needed fast for daughters graduation present before she leaves for college" something like that. put it everywhere!!!

i also think i alwyer is the best option. people get scared when they think someone with that much power is involved. hopefully someone with their law degree will be able to help soon!!!

If it pans out, I have another idea if the above is not feasible. Maureen could get a copy of the tape, and use it to make a small "Ad" that could show in local Movie places. If she took her story to the Manager of her local Theater, surely he would be moved enough to put it on screen before previews. I see local ads at my Movie Theater all the time. It would be so simple to make this ad; it could be either in the form of "stills"/pictures, or a small CD/DVD that she could make at home, and take to the Theater.

ARGH!! I still cannot believe I missed this the whole day. What does everyone think??? Even if the WalMart security tape does not pan out, I would still want to try the above. It's vacation season now - more people than ever are in the theatres, daytime and night!

I haven't heard from her, i am sure that it must take a really long time to get through the tape. If she wasn't in the tape, I am sure that Maureen is just out of her mind, she said she was contacting all the Vets in that area in the event that a new Yorkie is brought in, he is micro chipped and the Vets will check all new Yorkies.

I think an add in the paper stating anyone who may have bought a Yorkie in front of the Wal Mart Store in Trace? don't remember the town, but anyway who may have bought a young 18 month old 4 1/2 lb male yorkie that answers to ZEKE has been stolen, and the family is missing him so much, he needs medication, so please call and return him for a full refund, and a reward.

I really hope she was able to see the woman on the tape, as the police have not wanted to help, but if they had something concrete they would definitely step in. We have a lot of information, the best is knowing where the lady lives.

Maureen said she has been to her house, and blown a dog whistle and could not here a dog barking, their was a truck in front, she took a picture of the lic. plate, and the fact that she did not here the dog could mean she sold him, or is out trying to sell him. I think we are HOT on the trail, and have so many leads, and so much out there that i really feel in my gut that he will be returned.

I think your ideas are great, and anyone elses would be appreciated! If only we could get it in the evening or morning news. I would think the radio stations would comply, although she may have to pay to get them to announce her story about ZEKE being missing , it would be great as everyone listens to the radio in their car and sometimes at home.

I think every Vet in the area and surrounding areas should be on alert for a male yorkie, with a micro chip, we should find out if he has been neutered, or is in tact. I think her story is feeled with compassion it, and would make a good news story in the local paper, with a picture of ZEKE.

Maybe a PI is important to contact with all the information, or maybe the money would be better spent on radio adds and a t.v. spot. We are all so in to trying to find ZEKE, that i would hate to give up now, we just need some fresh ideas, and to follow through will all the ideas we have, and have been working with. More flyers, More Vets, More shopping mall, with flyers on the windshield, with a picture of ZEKE, and when he went missing, and a reward for his return, and the story about Maureen, and why she needs her dog back so badly, with her health issues., I don't know what they do in Calif. but here adds for lost and found are free in a lot of local papers.

Any way, i'm so glad you are back, all your ideas are so good! I can only be on line till noon, anything i could do from Colo ? I would to do, anything. I feel very helpless. All i can do is pray. And I continue to pray for ZEKE's return.

I am sure Maureen needs help with the distrubition of flyers, if some fo our members in the area and surrounding areas could help with getting the flyers in their areas to Vets, Shopping Mall's, Grocery Stores, Pet Smart, Pet Co. I think she would really appreciate some help, she can not do all this alone, as she also has a family to take care of. So if anyone in her area's are still willing to help I am sure Maureen will appreciate it.

Maybe we should try to raise some money to help pay for the flyers, and newspaper adds. I am will to give a donation, I just need to know where to send it. Maybe we should start a fund.

I agree with Donna Jean, We need to help with the money for flyers and other basic things. Please, Maureen let us know how we can help. I know that some of us are far away, but we can still help with the little things.
