Horrible experience at PETCO today~ i am so upset :(

He is definatley pure Yorkie and those kids were pure morons!! I can never figure out why people feel the need to express their negativity to total strangers. He is a cutie and don't let people like that get to you then they win.

That is just ridiculous! Your baby is obviously 100 percent YORKIE YORKIE YORKIE! Even if he wasn't (which is so not the case) they DO NOT have the right to act like they did and be little snots. I would be calling the manager or someone at Petco and really making this known that you will tell EVERYONE you know not to shop at Petco because they have awful employees who act like SNOTS.

You poor thing!!! Koda is gorgeous and he looks 100% Yorkie to me! And 3lbs 10oz at 3 months isn't all that extraordinary...he's fine! I am so sorry that those boys humiliated you and made you doubt yourself. I am sure you are a GREAT mom to Koda.

I know how you feel. I have a 12.5lb AKC registered yorkie. When people ask what he is I just say he's a yorkie, just on the big size. Some people give me that no way it's a yorkie look, but I've never had anyone fight me on it, except this one guy I know & he was just givin me a hard time. Logan has a very terrier head (not baby doll) & a lot of people think he's a Cairn terrier. Oh well I just smile & tell them no he's a yorkie & walk away once logan gotten all the attention he desires. I don't care that he's not the perfect example of a yorkie. He's the sweetest friendliest dog ever & cute to boot. And I think your little man is adorable.

I would go back into that store & find that boy. Act like you are there to apologize. Say something like I'm sorry I got defensive I was having a hard week you were just trying to educate me. What was your name again? & your friends name? Then as soon as you acquire that information ask to speak with their manager.

Never been to Petco and now I'll make it a point to not go. This just blows me away, your furbaby looks like a yorkie to me. Too bad people don't realize all yorkies don't look or weigh the same. My daughter has a male and I have a female (both from the same breeder) same dad different moms and they certainly don't look alike but are both akc registered yorkies.

I would most certainly find out who these guys are and report them to the manager. What they did to you was out and out harassment and needs to be stopped now.

Don't take it too hard. Because Ozzie has always far exceeded "standards" I am always getting asked if he is a mix and if I say no I am inevitably asked "Are you sure?"

I would tell these snot-nosed kids that at least Koda's parents have something to be proud of ...

I am so sorry that happened to you. First off, I would be sure to call that Petco and speak to the manager about what happened. It was totally uncalled for and just plain RUDE!!! The fact that they continued to harass you about it makes it worse! I'd even write a letter to their corporate office!! Who made them the experts? They are probably just there for a job.
I had a similar experience happen to me at Petsmart, a trainer asked me if Prince was a purebred yorkie. She told me that he was too big to be purebred, and that he looked like he had schnauzer in him (long story...he only looked like that after they'd given him a bad cut..it's in my thread) anyway...at 3 months, Prince was 3.5 lbs. He's now 5 months and 7 lbs. I got a lot of encouraging words here and I also spoke to his vet. Buth told me that Prince is just a bigger Yorkie. He may not be the "standard", but he's 100% Yorkie. I actually love the fact that he's bigger...I don't have to worry so much about him getting hurt.
Don't let those stupid people get you down or question your baby. He's absolutely adorable and don't let anyone make you think any differently!

OMG that is horrible. I cannot believe they said that to you. He looks like a yorkie to me. People have asked that about my little one, I just say that they are uneducated and do not know what they are talking about.

What a bunch of jerks..... Koda soooo much a Yorkie! You are definitely justified in making a complaint.
I would have went off on them!!
I noticed that you live in Ohio... if the Petco is in the Cincinnati area please do tell which one. I'd LOVE to make a trip up there! (wouldn't it be great for a bunch of YT Mom's to show up and raise a little bit of heck!! )

Wow, seems some people have no shame or tact whatsoever. Is that their freaking business what someone's puppy looks like? That employee prob saw one picture of a grown up Yorkie in his short and ignorant life and wanted to be a smart a$$... Please don't be upset, your Koda looks Yorkie to the T (or Y? ) and don't let some stupid comment by an undereducated person bring you down ok? Lol its petsmart for me from NOW ON! ive gotten rude comments from petco employees also about my lab. i was walking her and one of the employees, "shouldnt a pretty lil CHICK like you have a chihuahua or something?" I'm sorry that you had to deal with the ignorance of those kids. They need a little more training in the customer service department. Your Koda looks like a pure bred yorkie to me. I guess that they're use to seeing people come in with the tiny ones and they've stereotyped how a yorkie should look.
