| He's biting me! Paddington started somethig new over the weekend. He started biting me. In the face. Really hard. He does it when we're playing, when I'm training him, when I'm laying on the couch... He jumps up at my face and bites me really hard! He's bitten my hand too! He only does this to me, and never anyone else, and he does it whenever my boyfriend is around, or when he doesn't get what he wants (he did it the other day when we were training and he didn't get the treat...) It is so weird because I was just telling my vet how awesome he has been to train, and what a great friendly dog he is, and now I can't even pet him because he bites me when I try He's been better today, but we stayed at my parents' house rather than my apartment with my boyfriend. Could it be a dominance issue with my boyfriend? I know that I pay less attention to Paddington when I'm with him (but he still gets LOTS of attention, just not my undivided 100% of the time like he does here at my mom's) Did anyone else have this biting problem? I'm afraid he will start doing it to other people, including my baby nephew who crawls around on the floor (face within biting range) -O

YT Addict | My Teddy would do that with me, and he still does it whenever I don't get attention. What kind of bite is it. With Teddy he will take the smallest piece of skin and bite hard.. more like a little nip. I'm assuming he's doing it because he's angry or is starved for attention. I tell him no, or I will ignore him and he will eventually stop. What kind of biting does he do? Is he aggressive?

| My male only does that to my 4 year old (they like to play rough) but it is usually all in fun! I have had him around my nieces and nephews ranging from 4 months old to 8 years old and he doesn't do it to them, only my 4 year (who also cracks up laughing everytime he does it!) So I am not sure how to break my "boys" from doing this! Right now they both go on timeout! My son Troy goes to his room for 5 minutes and Tommy goes to his "room" (my bed) for 5 minutes! After they come off of their "Timeouts" they are right back at it playing! I would think though that since your baby is doing this to you only you could give him a prompt "timeout" where he can't have contact with you for a minute or two, that would probably drive him nuts but I think he'd get the point pretty quick beings he has been doing so well with his other training! Good Luck I am sure your baby will quit this behavior before my fur-baby and "skin" baby do!

| Thanks for the replies! We tried putting him in his kennel when he starts doing it, but when we let him back out he just starts again. I've stayed with him at my mom's house the past couple days, and he hasn't done it at all, so I definitely think it has to do with my bf being around. I don't know if he wants all the attention, or if it is dominance, or if it is because he senses that my bf doesn't really like him (which breaks my heart) but it needs to stop... he is starting puppy classes a week from today, so we'll see what the trainer has to say about it! What really makes me upset is that I can't even pet him when he starts! He just keeps biting me, and all I want is a li'l sugar from my baby! Thanks again! -O

| Baxter bites me usually after I come home from work - especially on Monday's - I just take it as him being pissed I was gone all day - But believe me - He knows NOT to do it - sometimes he just can't help himself. |
