| I got a girl. I have never had good luck with boys. (potty training, hyper, marking territory...different breed than yorkie, though) Anyways, we always stick with girls now. "I" feel they are easier to housebreak and train, and I have always had good luck with super personalities!!! Although, my last little has 2 perfect boys, and it was very HARD, not to keep them!!! They are all perfect, I guess it is what you are used to!!!

| I just want to clarify, so I don't offend anyone with a girl dog; I don't mean that all girl dogs are uppety. I'm sure all the princesses on this board are very sweet!!!! I just heard that boys tend to be a bit more affectionate towards their owners and girls tend to be more independent. -O

| My husband and I had our hearts set on a boy so we could name him Jimmy (long story)...but when we went to go pick out a puppy, it was a little girl who chose us instead! Looking back, I'm grateful to have a girl because of potty training....I think I would have so much more frustration if I had to deal with marking on top of potty training! Now that we ahve Tia and i have a bit of experience, i feel like I could get a boy pup and know what too expect.

| My male yorkie was 100% potty trained within a month of having him. He had the whole pee pad thing down in less than a week, so I don't believe the stereotype that girls are easier to potty train

| Prior to getting Horatio I had two girls...one Yorkie and one Poodle/Peke mix. When I had to have the Poodle/Peke mix put down my Uncle got another one...a boy though. Even though I loved the two I now had I was not happy with how the boy would mark. And there was the rubbing the belly thing too. So, when my then girl Yorkie and male mix were gone and I decided I needed another baby...I knew I wanted another Yorkie and my first choice was a girl. However, there was only the one boy available to me and I didn't want to wait any longer so I took a chance on him and I've never regretted it. I've gotten over the marking issue and belly hazard.

YT Addict | I chose my Teddy because it was an instinctive feeling I had. I saw him and knew he would be perfect for my little family. And he was. Total lap dog. I picked up Theresa because I wanted them to be from the same family, and they look so much alike, and have a lot of the same mannerisms. It's adorable. And..what they say about female dogs is not the case when dealing with my Theresa. She's a lap dog just like my Teddy is. I guess I got lucky.. or they are really spoiled! Ashley

| Thanks for answering! I'm leaning a bit more towards a girl because to be honest I'm a bit afraid of dog penis after seeing a German Shepard's penis when I was like 14! Also, reading a few posts here that said their dog's penis comes out when he's excited or it sometimes gets "stuck" has me even more afraid... lol. I'm not sure how I would bring that up to my dad (since he pays for everything) if I needed to take the dog to the vet: "He needs to go to the vet Dad! He has a problem." "What's the problem?" "Err, his penis is sticking out. " |

| I got a girl. I prefer girl dogs over boys because girls seem sweeter. I have just had better experiences with girls. |

| I got my Lucy first. When I went to the breeder's house, she came up to me and sat down on my feet and that was it! 4 mos later I went back and got my little Rebel. I wanted one of each and I feel like I have the best of both worlds.

| I didn't want to risk getting a boy who would hike all over everything marking his territory, so I ruled out a boy IMMEDIATELY! I was all about getting a little girl! |
