| I think your puppy is a cutie. A thinner coat usually turns into a silk coat where a fluffy one can be a cotton coat

| MUCH easier I don't have to brush Cookie every day. In fact I have brushed him once a week and still he has no knots. My Maltese is a different story! She gets knots in 24 hrs.Have you seen both parents? Maybe you can take pictures of the mom and dad. I understand what you mean about it looking thin. It also looks thin to me even if it's around 8-9 weeks old I usually see them with more fluffed hair. Genie Cookie Lola Angel |

| Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | a silky coat is easier to maintain...mattes in the hair comes right out with a couple of strokes from the comb...kekek...i am lucky Tootsie has a silky coat...because she plays rough...and it doesn't take too long to groom her as my maltese...keke

| Rae Rae, you furbaby is precious! Bobbi looked just like that and he has turned into a swan. He was not as cute as the other "fluffballs" I see around here. He has plenty of hair now but it's a true silk, never matts, is steel blue and just gorgeous........but then again, he's my son

| Your baby looks perfect to me. I wish I had known about the different types of coats before I bought my first one. She is so cottony! Yours will probably have beautiful hair. |

| Thanks again for the advice everyone! Rocky I think has more a cottony coat, but then again, I didn't see him until he was 6months old, so I'm not sure what he looked like as a baby. I know the puppy's mom has a silky coat, the dad's hair is kept short, but I think it's a silk coat as well.

| Here is Rusty at 10 weeks and Rusty today....(now 8 months) still VERY short body hair but it is growing VERY VERY slow. Head hair has obviously grown. He has never been groomed AT ALL. I don't really like the last pic of him but it sure shows how short his coat is

One of my Yorkies has a Wirey Coat on her back - Just takes longer to grow. I use Plush Puppy Shampoo & Conditioner on her hair everytime I bathe her, I also use Plush Puppy Seabreeze Oil on it when it is wet, then Blowdry. Because her hair breaks off very easily, she needs the extra conditioning & oil. Lexi will be 2 ys old in September. Here is a picture of her - she turned out beautiful - she just will never have really long hair.

| Ceeby's hair is fine and thin. it looked awful when he was that young. Oily, too. I have since learned that often these pups will end up having a silky coat. One of my whole litters was like this and they all have silky coats. kandy and ceeby are pure silk. |
